You can try checking your timing if it's to factory spec. If it is, then it could be just your exhaust setup. Well, I got the popping also but performance hasn't gotten bad or anything. I'm pretty sure it's normal with an aftermarket exhaust.

Most likely a backfire.
Unburned fuel getting combusted in the exhaust. If that's the case, either you're not getting full combustion in the chamber or you are running a tad bit rich. -------------------- |

Nah my car just has a stock header. i think to go catless u just replace the catalytic converter with a piece of exhaust pipe.

QUOTE Nah my car just has a stock header. i think to go catless u just replace the catalytic converter with a piece of exhaust pipe. Then you would still have a cat, because there is one on the exhaust manifold as well as along the piping. I have this happen every once in a while with my exhaust setup, and I have both cats still! The last time was a few months ago, but I remember when I heard the pop from the exhaust, I felt it in the pedals as well. Very strange, but it doesn't bother me. I just love the rumble!
