Here is what comes to mind:

Carbon Fiber Hood
Alloy Rims 17'

I wondered about the axles though is there a substitute for stock axles that would make for a reduction in weight?

Some people have described ripping out the rear carpet and adhesive what did you finish it with to make your vehicle not look craptastic?

Anyother less obvious things that can be swapped for weight reduction?

if ur looking for weight reduction then u def dont want 17's, go with 15's.

also tak out rear carpet and plastic moduling will save you um 4 or 5 pounds. not worth it at all. you can take out your spare tire and remove the car jack. (hope you dont get a flat)

You can take off your front bumper and remove your support bar which is stupid and illegal but will save wait. racing seats can save a few pounds over the stock seats.

a lighter wait exhaust can drop a few more. you can remove your back seats for 10 or 20 pounds but that is annoying as hell and everoyne can see what you have in the trunk (if you have a hatchback). or you can just remove the pass seat and back seats (who like passengers anyway?)

then if you want you can go ahead and totally gut ur doors removing power windows and door locks and take it down to the bare metal. also you can remove cruise control for a few ounces and for a lil more weight drop out that annoying cool blowing AC.

if your getting really serious and want to just race your car only, then u can remove radio, alternator (u can run your car for aout an hour with no alt before you battery gives out, then just recharge your battery!)

hopefully you notice i was joking by now, in my car i have my spare tire outs and thats it. i have a can of fix a flat, and also my wheels are 2 big for my spare to actually work.

also i think its really stupid to gut out ur car espically if its a daily driver and slow. i whooped this eclipse that was taken down to litterally bare metal on the inside. now he lost that race and he cant ride home in comfort..... WTF is the point? i also race a tubed civic on the freeway from a 60mph roll i let him punch it first and by 85mph i was 5 cars ahead with me and my girl friend laughing at him.

errr.... subway diet????

your doors interior can be swapped out with fiberglass ones.

all you got to do is make a flat sheet if fibreglass and paint it the color of your interior or some color you like, and find some way to attach it to the inside of your door (leave out the pwr locks/winds)

I know it sound weird but I saw it done on a VW and it actually looked really great, it was like mirror black.
