hi,

i was just thinking of installing a RFID key to my ignition for a keyless engine start but im not too sure about the wiring. At the ignition barrel, can some one please tell me when the key is in ACC position...which wires are connected and which wires are connected when its in ON position...thanks in advance.

Which model of RFID are you planing to use?

Ignition wiring:
White: Live
Black/Red: Live
Grey: ACC
Lite blue/Red: Ignition 1
Black/Orange: Ignition 2
Black/White: Starter

colors may vary from yours, to make sure test them with a meter or test light

im using a normal RFID..transponder that works within 3inches of the sensor.i was thinking of using 2-3 RFIDs, one for ACC and ON position and the other for the solenoid...one of the RFID range will be significantly longer (abt 3meters) so that it picks up the signal and turns the igntion to ACC&ON position when i'm in the car, the other RFID (for the solenoid) will be abt 75mm working range and required the transponder to be at a specific place for a short time the engine to be started...(so its like i'm waving the kaycard then the car turns on...hehehe)

...i dunno if this work at all. mabe i should just use one RFID for the solenoid, i still like to keep the key in the loop..what do you guys think?

...thanks for the tips K-ESD but can you tell me specifically which wire connects to which when the key is in ACC&ON positon?...i need this for the relay wiring...

thanks

aaron

From what I understand you plan on using a generic on/off switch type of RFID.

My suggestion would be to have only one RFID that enables (thru relays) a switch and a button to be pressed. (three way switch for OFF ACC IGN and one push button for start)

so this way, you sit in your car, flick a switch and push a button to start it.
you won't have to mess around with latching circuits and accidental on/off switching.

white powers:
-lite blue/red (ign 1)
-grey (acc)

black/red powers:
-black/orange (ign 2)
-black/white (starter)
