Installing start button question [Update: pics added] Options

I just bought a S2000 style start button and tried to install it but i dunno which wires to tap from.
2 wires should go from the starter solenoid to the relay of the button.

Start: black/white
Ignition #1: Black/orange
Ignition #2: Blue/red
Accessory: grey
Constan +12 volts: white

I tried Ignition #1 and #2 and nothing happened. So then I tried ignition #2 and start, then my fuse burned out twice. I haven't tried ignition #1 and start yet cus i dont wanna burn another fuse. help me guys....

Do you have to put the key in run first then push this red button? How many contacts are in the back of this switch? What kind of current can this switch handle? Its been a while since I looked at that part of the system but I think some pretty heavy gauge wire runs through the "run" "start" connections

yes i need to put the key in first. relay has 4 wires. 2 of them comes from the ignition barrel 1 goes to the start button and 1 goes to the - of my cigarette lighter. so the + goes from the button to the + of the lighter. im not sure what u mean by current of the switch...sorry my english is bad

and another weird thing...i also wired my indiglo gauges to my lighter and when i push the start button, the gauges will glow lol

I got it....i needed to connect constant 12v with start (i couldve known this actually ) I'll make pics soon.

constant 12v? dont think you need that. connect the white black & black/orange or just black to the relay and thats it.

so basically you wire it like this:

12v swiched live to pin 30, wire out to starter to pin 87,push button switch ,pin 86, ground to pin 85.

...the problem with these switch is when the engine already started if you press it again it will kill the engine...im working one a second relay so that when the engine started it wont die if you press the switch again...only works when the engine is off.

i think i need some diodes....LOL

Pix please ......One thing thou...whats the point of having that button if you still need to insert the key?

the key is to feed 12+ to the relay plus it acts as a security device,

this is the start button...i quite like the look. ive put the cigarette lighter in dashboard.

@lubu: i havent connected the way you said cus im a bit lazy now hahaha. i know its better...maybe later I like the idea to protect the button from pressing it twice causing the engine to stop. tell me how ur planning to do so with a second relay.

Question. What does your "race mode" button connect to that gives you the extra 15hp? Piggy-back ECU?

it connects to the air intake sensor. i do need a powerfilter and 98octane to make advantage of full 15hp

air intake sensor? you mean you hook it up to the switch a resistor in the loop?

no, the race mode button is connected directly from a relay to the 2 wires of the air intake sensor.

i cant see how you gain 15hp by connected directly to the sensor...maybe if you throw in a resistor then maybe...

Those "Race mode" buttons are a joke, you can damage your engine using them long term. If it was so cheap and easy to add 15 BHP, do you not think Toyota would have done it originally?

That button works about as well as your pix.

do not use the resistor across the sensor...while it might work by tricking the ecu to think that the air flow is colder....not very efficient. You'll damage in engine in the long run bcoz the fuel ratio mixture is not optimised, more fuel than it should be...

Yeah I tried it a resistor once, smelled how rich the engne was running and promptly took it off! I just finished my cold air intake and now I now what real +HP is!
