i bought some 17" rims recently, but noticed that the brakepads from the front wheels are protruding like 1mm and hit rim...so i put in 5 washers each wheel and that fixed the problem.

However only the front wheels have this problem but i put 5 washer in each anyway, will this hurt my car?
and do i need the washers in the rear wheels even though they dont need it?

im with Shocker on this.

The whole wheel should be in contact with the disc not just in 5 places , take the wheels off until you have some wheel spacers.

Washers and wheel bolts are a bad idea

Get a set of spacers.
