I need to know how to ground negative. I have 1 black wire to ground it, but where do I stick this to? Also, I need to connect the alarm to my battery. Where can I run the wire to the battery? Can I pull it through the firewall where the cable from the climate control goes?

The whole body of the Celica is grounded, so you can ground the negative to the body of the vehicle anywhere.

From Crutchfield's site:
"Use a star washer when connecting wires to chassis ground, and scrape away any paint or grime that might prevent a good connection to the bare metal and then cover the ground with silicon. If possible, connect ground wires beneath an existing nut and bolt. If a nut and bolt aren't available, use a #10 machine screw with a lock washer. "

You can run the + through the firewall.

PS, a google search came up with the following...

nc----orange
com---white
no----yellow

NC no connection
COM common/ground?
no ?

There should only be two wires coming from your alarm (both lock and unlock are negative triggered) going to the lock module under the steering column on the right.

Read your install manual closer.

If you want to use a two-stage unlock (unlock driver then passenger door by pressing remote unlock button twice) there would be three wires.

to be honest...i dont understand most of the manual. so far i have connected acc, on1, on2, start, constant +12v. i still need to connect the battery, horn and powerlocks.

this alarmcomes with a horn, but in the manual says theres only 1 pink wire going to the horn. the horn itself has 2 wires and as far as i know all speakers, headphones, horns etc etc needs 2 wires to make it work

remote start is also a function, but the manual says it can only be installed if the vehicle has stepless gear...stepless gear as automatic/manual gear????

help!

i forgot 1 thing....theres also a relay for the high oil pressure...is there any need for this??

Horn has a black and red likely. Pink goes to red, black goes to ground, usually a self-taping screw with star nut screwed into the firewall or other metal in the engine compartment.

Stepless gear... Pretty sure that means automatics only. It can be installed into a manual, but you will need to read up on it.

Oil pressure probably for remote start.

What alarm is this?

you have an overly complicated alarm system. Its quiet stupidly layed out. But I think i figured it out.

First, do you have a mulitmeter to measure what reading each wire does?

I think you need to connect the 6 wires like this:

orange: ground
orange/black: ground
white: car's wiring of unlock/lock
white/black: cars's wiring of unlock/lock

NOW BEFORE YOU GO AND CONNECT ANY OF THESE WIRES!!!! you will need to test them out. do this by:
1) connecting the orange wireS to the grounds. and then
2)connect a multimeter to one of the white wires.
3) set the multimter to OHMS settings.
4) use remote to unlock/lock the door.
5) notice the reading. The meter should flicker.
* if not then i messed up on reading your chart.
6) post on the forums of your results.

I havent been able to do anything today. But ive been thinking in the meanwhile (and its hurts tongue.gif)....since when i connect a small harnass to the main unit the engine starts and the electric motor never stops with rotating...i must have connect something wrong. but there are stickers on those wires (start, on1, on2, acc ect etc) and as far as im concerned everything shud be ok...so canplease some help me outwith this. which wire to what!

you need to read your manual to determine the engine crank duration. Jumpers maybe? I don't have your whole manual so i cant tell you specifics.

Did you hook up the purple wire to the spark plug cable?

i think that is your alarms way to tell if the engine has started or not.

for ur central lock you need to choose layout two...negative trigger.

basically connect yellow+yellow/black to ground
white and white black to ur central locking module...which locates below the steering wheel.

the two brown wires...i dont know if ur car is same as mine but i need to use two relays to make it work...you might need them too.

the brake wire is near the brake...from the brake looking up you will see that when you press the pedal you release the switch, make sure you have the correct wire.

cant help you much with remote start coz i havent come pass it.

Thx alot again hanyo and lubu!

basically, these 2 pages is all they explain!!! I havent connected the purple wire yet cus i dunno where to connect to! I'll try a sparkplug like hanyo says.

Lubu: powerunlock: white connect blue and white/black with blue/black?

Quote:
"Power Lock Blue/Back - Lock Module right of column
Power Unlock Blue and Green *1 - Lock Module right of column"

How do i connect the 2 relays to "Parking Lights + Dk. Green At Dimmer
Parking Lights - Lt. Green Steering Column"?

Im sorry guys! im really a noob with all this wiring! so please forgive me for my noobness!

yea the lock/unlock wires go to the module...

get 2 relays...lets cal them r1 and r2

connect 87(r1) to 87(r2) to constant +
connect 85(r1) to 86(r2) and both to ground
connect the browns wires to 86(r1) and 85(r2)
finally connect 30(r1) and 30(r2) to the parking wires..

edit: you dont need to connect the orange&orange/black to ground, just leave them
yellow *yellow/black - not to constant +12volt but to ground
white&white/black - to lock/unlock
