Well, hopefully someone will appreciate my hard work and realize the potential this car has. I'm really hoping someone will finish this car and swap the engine. That's why I would LOVE for a Celica enthusiast to buy it. A good owner is just as or more important the the price.

Good luck sellin it man. I;ve found that mods actaully lower value in our area, cause all the buyers then know its prolly been drivin kinda quick like. If you can find someone looking for the look you made, thats awesome. Personally I love it. I know one guy who was trying to sell a gt with the 3sgte swap, a ton of extras, he said he put over $20,000 and he couldn't even get $10,000. And the engine only had 60,000 miles. Anyway. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice. I'm trying to get as much as I can so that all my work isn't a complete waste. Unfortunately it has 110,000 miles on it, but you guys know as well as I how good a Toyota engine is. There are no problems...oil change every 3,000 miles or less with Valvoline synthetic. The stock 14" wheels with tires are included, everything is pretty new. Just got the seats upholstered and bought brand new Toyota mats that I never put a foot on, just used it for shows and replaced the battery last week. Afterall, a swap would make this the perfect daily driven/show car. I'm willing to work the price with a serious buyer.

I wouldnt give you 5 for a car with 110,000. I paid 9k for mine and it has 2,000 miles on the motor and only 46,000 on the body. Mods do make your actual car value decrease. Good luck finding a youngster with 12k to buy it. If you were smart youd sell your aftermarket and make it as close to stock as you can. Then ask for a more valid price. I sold my 92 ST with 130,000 over 4k in mods for 1,100.
Expect no more then 6-9 depending on how foolish your buyer is. Good Luck This post has been edited by Andason: Jul 27, 2003 - 3:35 AM -------------------- i am awesome

For those of you who understand where I'm coming from I appreciate it and thanks for being kind and mature. For those of you who are down talking my car...IF YOU'RE NOT INTERESTED THERE'S NO NEED TO SAY ANYTHING. I'm selling the car, not asking you how much you'd pay. I'm not going to screw myself over for all the hard work and money I've put into the car. The asking price is high so that there is room for negotiation. So if you have a problem with my car and the price I'm asking then please keep it to yourself. Personally, I don't care how much you paid for your car. I do know that modifications decrease the value of a vehicle by Kelly Blue Book and dealership standards but for every douche bag that does not appreciate the hard work I've put in , there's always someone else who will. You already have yourself a 6th gen, so it really doesn't make sense why you feel the need to criticize how I'm going to sell my car. If you paid a good price for yours, more power to you. Consider yourself lucky, move on and have fun with your stock Celica.

Look, you're not going to buy the car so leave it at that. Why don't you take some more time to educate the world on exactly what percentage the tint is on each of your windows?

alright, i'm not a mod here, but i am on celica.net, and this sort of s**t is not necessary. cut it out. let the guy try to sell his car in peace. xs, don't even bother trying to reply to these guys, it's not worth the time... a lot of people here just have nothing better to do than hate. -------------------- 1994 Lexus ES300

Well, you might be keeping him at the top of the forum, but you're still coming across as rude and immature. You're not showing very much respect. Scooby basicly said the same thing you did in his post toward the top, but he did it without making himself look like a child.
Everybody wants to get the most for whatever it is they're trying to sell. If you think the price is too high, you can say it, but do it while also showing respect. Just to let you know... I recently sold my 91 GTS with a cracked windshield, torn leather, flaking clear coat, horrible wheels, two bald tires and about 16 dents with 195 thousand miles on it and I got 1800, so it looks like you got took for a fool on your 92 or you don't know enough about what you're saying to back yourself up, especially with the 4K in mods. Peace. |

Not really, did I mention it had a salvage title, knocking motor, bad cv joints, bad brakes, and cracked exaust manifold. Also had no repairs ever... ie fuel filter, transmission, clutch, blah blah blah. Do your research before you talk smack fool. Plus I feel like a terrible person selling a car I know isn't worth that much for more then what it is. You should feel terrible for collecting hail damage and still selling it for that much. -------------------- i am awesome

It had a Blue Book of 2200 in the condition it was in, and the guy that bought it was really happy to have it at 1800. I didn't feel horrible for getting that. It was less than what it was worth.
And no, you didn't mention all that was wrong with your car. How could I possibly research the condition of your ride? Am I going to find out the VIN # on your car and hire a detective to locate it and report on what sort of shape it was in? "Uh, yes Mr. Detective. I'm thinking about placing a well researched and documented post online. I need you to travel wherever you may have to and locate a vehicle for me. 1500 dollars plus all of your expenses? That sounds fair to me because, as you well know, I want this post to be as completely researched as it can be..." It's a little silly to call someone a fool for not being able to read your mind. Your other post said nothing of the condition of the car you sold. In your haste you overlooked logic in your arguement and therefore you don't have one. Peace. |
