Thanks ! toyotaworld.com PTR042094004 trd short shifter $166.44 your best bet would be to pick up one of 6strngs twm for 95$. or just get a 7th gen short shifter off ebay for like 40$. then if you want the trd knob then you can get one for like 60$ there was one for sale on ebay a few months back for like 125 but that was a steal. gl This post has been edited by goferris: May 25, 2007 - 11:21 PM -------------------- |

I have TWM short shifters for $95 shipped. but since you live in the bay area, you could even do a local pickup in livermore for $90. If you want, I could even help you install it, though it's not hard to do.

QUOTE(njccmd2002 @ May 26, 2007 - 6:18 PM) Yeah, TWM is a good brand. I am selling some short throw shifters from TWM that are specific to the 6th gen celica for only $95 shipped, that's cheaper then that ebay add for a 7th gen shifter. If you're interested, send me a PM. As for the TRD vs. TWM, I really don't see how the TRD could be any better, just cost more for the same thing. in fact, I think some of the TRD short throws for our year celica only offer a 10% reduction in the throw. The TWM is a 1.5" reduction, and reduces the throw by 35% -------------------- 94 GT - Sold -------- 69 Pontiac Lemans - Sold 88 Alltrac - Sold ---- 04 WRX - Sold 00 GT-S - Sold ------ 91 Miata - project/drift car 95 GT - Sold -------- 96 GT - New Daily Drive |

If you're going to get the TWM, get it from 6strngs. Only thing you have to remember is that the TRD version comes at the whole assembly, while the TWM and other 7th gen ones are just the shifter shaft.

Considering it comes with (or does it say it 'may' come with?) the TRD leather knob, which runs at ~$70? $130 for the whole shifter assembly isn't too bad...
People say that the twm and 7th gen short shifters give shorter throws though, right? |

I have the TRD quickshifter+knob and it shifts great. Way more then 10% shorter throw. Feels smooth and precise.

I believe the TRD is a 40% reduction in throw, but 10% in height.
TWM was something like 60% reduction in throw and... I don't know.. short would be a good way to put it. I have had both TRD and TWM. I liked the TRD one, but honestly, I enjoy the TWM I got from Lagos much more. The only thing I would suggest is go to the twosrus website and order the metal shifter bushings to replace the stock rubber ones. The TRD will come with metal ones, TWM doesn't, but for only ~30 bucks for the bushings is not a bad deal. -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money
