Im a little lonely at my work desk and was thinking of buying a betta fish and naming it Kahlua (my favorite drink) Could I leave Friday at 5pm and feed it and then not worry about it again till Monday or would it die?

Not recommended. However you can purchase a 3 day feeder.

I will survive the weekend but your fish will not look beautiful as you would like. so follow supersprynt's advice, those feeders are not expensive.. I currently have a purple beta fish and waiting to move so I can get a real fish tan -------------------- |

my sister has a betta. she said it can go a week no prob. the weekend feeder might pollute the tank if its small and drown the fish in hazy water. they dont really eat a lot.

It'll be fine. Fish don't need to eat every day.

Itll be fine... its only two days basically...
Fish will sift through the rocks at the bottom of theyre cage to pick up any food that could be on/under/between the rocks that they missed during previous feedings. So even when there's food not present, there actually is food for them. I have 2 BIG kois... thats what they do all day. Pick up rocks in theyre mouths and spit em back out getting any food that could be on em. I've grown up with fish of all sizes and thats what they all do. -------------------- 2003 Nissan Murano SE |

that will be fine, but if you really love your fish, throw in some 2-3 day feeder. It's basically food that will last in the tank for 2-3 days. I've left my red better for at least 1 week, maybe more, when i came back, he was fine, a little hungry and mad at me, but i said sorry.
