i made a custom "super induction box" for the intake because it was sucking in way too much hot air form the engine, after i did this i definatly felt an improvement, i think it is preforming at its best now

i ran into that same problem, i ended up just capping off the connection on the pipe.

you know what i am not really sure of a difference yet. i think that it is sucking in too much hot air from the engine, i am going to fabricate a heat shield, and also try to route some more air to the intake

i heard them talking and for some reason figured out they were cambodian, and their employer confirmed it. the whole thing ran me $75. now i have another problem, the oil dipstick housing broke off, i went over a bump and oil splatterd all over the headers causing it to burn and smoke like crazy, i guess it took all the oil out and now i need to get that fixed, right now it is parked at a nearby wawa, hope nobody steals it

Looks good man. A heat shield was something I was thinking about when I had her. Loved the sound and the butt dyno felt a little difference.

:thumbs up:

Nice im picking one up in the near future.

couple of questions though.

1. isn't Secret Weapon including a free CAI conversion tubing/ coupler... with each purchase? (just realized undasighted is a guy from here.)
2. and is the 1.8 litre corolla kit for a 7a motor. if so does it fit ours?

btw looks good! biggrin.gif

1. not that I knew of, but that would be awesome. I just bought a 30 dollar 90 accord CAI and hacked a couple inches off some of the piping and relocated the filter in the fender wall, as detailed in the CAI thread in Engine. I miss the simplicity of my SRI, but I like the CAI as well. I think there's more of a diff with the CAI, but a) the piping isn't as wide so less air, even if it is colder and b) regardless, our little engines arent gonna get more than maybe 3 hp at most out of either setup to the wheels, and even that sometimes gets disputed on here. I feel more of a gain in certain "sweet spots" on the RPM line, but I think it's more sound than anything. We'll see how it compliments the header-back exhaust line when I get that on there next wednesday.

2. What kit are you talking about? SRI or something else? Pretty much all the engine mods for either 7afe will work as far as I understand. For something like the intake piping though, I'm not sure as there may be a pretty decent difference between engine bays.
