get rid of it and get a 3sgte.

no but seriously, you can turbo it, that can give you about 200 HP if you do it right, but that's still not as much as a 3sgte. it depends on what you want out of it. any HP estimates? goals?

ALOT from what I hear the kit is 2-3 its custom made only. Just go look under engines and preformance and look at the swaps, do one like what Coomer is doing! Get that engine and put a turbo much better tongue.gif

custom turbo the 7a. its a headache while sourcing your parts and tuning it but i think its worth it. i like to be different so a turbo 7a is unique for me. 2-3k if you get hook ups but really plan on spending under 5 in the end.

Charlie97L is a good one for this.

The thing is the head, cylinder, rings and pistons and a few more.

You can boost for over $1k for parts. but labour could cost you if you cannot do it yourself.

The prolem is, how much boost can you run and still have your motor.

200hp+ is easily reacheable, but the life of your more can drop.

Find another 7afe if you want to be unique.

Should be very cheap.

Keep that once side.

either design your kit or get a kit. I prefer design if you can.

Start of at 5psi and increase to 10 with dyno test. This would be good intel for us to see really how this engine can hold on.

It was 17k last I looked. But that was on Rod Millen's page... I posted that kit up in general discussion onece upon a time... most either loved it or hated it.

i think the 7a will hold 5-8psi daily without compromising its life... toyota did turbo this for in austria if i remember correctly, in the sportivo corolla. very rare car... about the install cost, dont both doing it if you cannot install it at least. it really isnt hard out of anyones reach if you have researched and learned about the car/ what you plan on doing ahead of time.

zip strips you think so with just research? I would say that you have to at least have a decent amount of car modification experience, or a friend who has a very good amount. I mean, the first time I tried to install my intake after research I was still like... "woah".

haha, true, i have had very helpful friends but i was under the car turning the wrench, and they stopped by just in time for me to start it up. i have been looking to do this for well over a year, and after seeing it done my 96turboST (some should remember him) and putting mine together at the same time as charlie and OOBE we all shared info and have done our installs. now we are at the hardest part. harder than installing it all, tuning. each of us differ in some ways, like fuel setups, injectors, etc. oobe and i seem to have "high blood pressure" in our motors and are looking how to cure it. a restrictor in the oil feed line is soposto do the tirck but we need to try it 1st. my celica is in the shop again (broke some oil pan seals) and i havent been able to try it. im afraid its not going to flow enough, so we need to T it in, check the pressure, than go to a machine shop and open it up a little to test it again. i wonder how many trips that will take....

about the high blood pressure, seems like its happening with the pre obd2 celicas.

i'll let you know if i have oil problems

and btw, it takes research and experience to be able to do things on a car.

OR

you have to have a perfect set of instructions and be able to follow them perfectly with out snags, if not you're SOL.

i have done everything with engines since i was about 4 years old. i always helped my dad with the cars and now i do almost all the work myself.

it also helps to have a mechanical mindframe.
