Canon S3, opinions? Options

i think its time for a new camera. i want something with more manual features, while keeping things at 300$ or less. what do you guys think of the canon s3? everything i read says its an amazing camera for the price.

I have been using S3IS for over a year now.
It's one of the best all around cameras I have ever used.
I love the ultrasonic lens and image stabilizer. The auto-focusing is very fast and precise.
The movie quality is incredible.
You can also zoom in/out while capturing a video plus taking a full resolution still shot.
You can't beat 12x zoom and ability to focus at 0" in super macro mode
I have it with an adapter and Hoya UV filter.
I can also put on a polarizer when needed.
Mine without the lens hood.

I got an S2..the only thing I hate about it is the auto-focus..it just sucks, its slow and innacurate in dark areas , I hope the S3 is better.

But I love everything else about it, I just wish the pictures were SLR quality!

here is a link to a vid done with the s3. its uncompressed avi but the quality is very close to that, even after wmv compression.

what do you guys think about the new s5? or the sony h5?
