I just bought a limited edition 1997 model too, I only had badges on the passenger side fender...cloth seats with "Celica" written on them...

Well to be honest, I didn't even know that it was a Ltd Ed. til my wife added the car onto the insurance....

However, when I looked up the standard options on the L/E's for my year, a lot of those things were optional. (seats, leather, etc...)
But as long as I have all power, sunroof, rear wiper/defroster, that's enough for me. I have wondered where the hell my badges went to!!!...lol.

Oh, I shaved the back emblems off...I think I'm going leave the toyota emblems on though. As far as the rear emblem that says "toyota", I'm actually going to put that on the front fascia above the toyota emblem on the front bumper.

I bought Limited Edition front seats from a totalled Celica, they had "Celica" written on them, but weren't leather. It did however have the badges. I thought they all had leather too! Mine did however come with leather stock.

I didnt think that they all had leather. I knew that some of them came with celica written on the cloth seats but i didnt see that in the pics either.

Leather seats, moon roof, primium (8 spkrs) sound system, ABS, side skirts, front strut bar, sport suspensions are NOT standard on Limited Editions.

yeah, mine is an LE too but i have regular tan cloth seats, the LE badges, and power options. no moonroof, no leather, or anything else.

No green ones have "special sport cloth" (with the writing).

I hate to be the one to tell you but that is not an LE. I have seen them on e-bay like that the VIN
calls them a LE and they are not. Limited edition sts were not available in that color. Fiesta blue metallic
was only available until Jan 97. I have a brochure I finally scanned and will post up in GD tonight.
I would still like your info plant seq # and manuf date. I am starting a database and possable calling out toyota on a false claim that there were only 3500 produced. I have done tons of reseach on this subject
and Plant sequence #s don't lie. It is a beautiful car and that color is probably more rare than the LE green.
Sorry though your insurance company is wrong.


Edit: 97 limited edition STs were available in red, black, silver and green
Verts in black and green.

Being an LE does nothing for the value and is not recognized by NADA or
kellys blue books. here is the brochure.

let's see...
my LE had cloth seats with CELICA embroidered on them, 4 (not 6 or 8) speaker sound system, Limited edition emblem with the dragon on the fenders as well as a limited edition sticker with dragon next to rear view mirror (which i still have as a memento). it did have a moonroof but it only tilted up, it didn't open all the way. and it had the "gt alloy" rims. other than that nothing too special about it. i did love that car don't get me wrong. wish i could find it cuz ther are some things i woulda liked to get outta it. but all in all i am glad that i now have the gt. makes things easier for engine swapping.
edit: OH i almost forgot the limited edition embroidered floor mats. i still have the drivers side that i use in the gt cuz it didn't have one when i bought it and for some reason it wasn't in my car at the time of the wreck. i think there was some gum on it or something. it also had the Ghost emblems which i think are the SHI#!!!
