I'm in the market for a new car, and the only one that has particularly caught my eye as to not be embarrassing to drive is a 2001 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS. What is everyone's opinions on this car?

I dislike the idea of driving a SUBARU. The name just sounds absurdly retarded for starts. I personally would rather spend the money on a 99-02 accord. Or an S-2k. Or a 7gc GTS. I would never drive a Subara Impreza. Lame. Sorry dude, just letting you know my .02.

I heard the transmission and.. well the differentials.. are very weak and that they die on you all the time!
POssibly because people drive the car as if they were in the WRC.. but..still be weary.. it'll cost you more to maintain than the celi. |

I like them. They are stylish and powerful. I was recently the designated driver for my dad and his friends in key west and while waiting in the lot there was a blue impreza just sittin there. So i studied every inch of it, because hey, i had to waste another couple hours and i was surrounded by transvestites. And that baby was so stylish, every inch of it was sexy. But i may be impartial because I an a huge fan of the WRX STI.
Good Luck. |

I actually like the 98-00 2.5RS 2 doors....they look very nice with a kit, and have differentials up the wazoo along with AWD for lots and lots of traction, grip, and acceleration.....personally i like them, theyre pretty unique and look really nice fixed up. And of the subarus ive seen or driven, i wouldnt mind owning one. Go ahead and get one if you want it, its your choice....i dont think theyre bad cars.

Second that, ......do your homework on the car, get as much feedback from guys who have owned one (not just Magic ) and then test drive one. You were onto a loser to ask the 6gc family to "big-up" a Subaru. By the way we call them Scooby's over here (Rhyming slang..Scooby Doo =Subaru) |
