I'm looking for new tires for my 17x7.5 rims. I want 225/45/17 tires. So far, I really like the Toyo Proxes 4 but I'm sure there are others out there that are better. Anyone know what the best ones are in this size in terms of specifications or personal experience? Money comes and goes so cost is not a concern. lol. Thanks in advance.

proxes 4 are all-seasons... you live in miami, take advantage of it and get summer tires! if you are looking for all-seasons though, yokohama advan s4 are the best, ive heard nothing but great reviews about that tire. i did a lot of research before buying my current tires.
s.4. info and comparison http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?ti...Model=ADVAN+S.4. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresult....jsp?type=UHPAS my tires, great all-season tire for less money http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?ti...eModel=AVID+V4S http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresult...y.jsp?type=HPAS but then again, i live in colorado. if i lived down there, i would get summer tires. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside. |

Falken Azenis RT-615. You'll love them to death. Got my 235/40-17 for 160 CAN a piece. They'll last about 25,000km.

guys, the "best" tire going is the best one you can afford.
lol last time i needed a set, i bought michelin pilot sport A/S (all season) .yes, they are pricey (~185$ea), but 1000X the grip and miles better ride quality than the 80$ea falkens i had been using. not to mention i would have already gone thru a set of falkens, and i still have ~50% treadwear left on the michelins. its all about your pocketbook VS' how much grip Vs tire wear, IMO. there is no 1 BEST tire for every person. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

what if im rich? whats the best tire i can buy? lol.
i guess i was hoping there was 1 best tire in terms of specs or something. because there are so many specs on tires that it's hard to compare and see the best one, especially since not 1 tire place carries every single tire there is. -------------------- |

Joker, check out the specs, reviews and ratings on Tirerack. The amount of information is staggering and it is very well organized.

I would recommend Bridgestone RE01-R, Advan Neova AD07, or Toyo R1R tires.
