[img]hey evry1.......yesterday my mechanic fixed a lick that i had at the timing belt and also replaced it and when he got done with it i took it for a test drive around the subdivision.......well........this is what I came home with.......I was following this lady in a mercury mountaineer and, all of the sudden, she stopped, put in reverse and start backing up......I tried to go around her but it was too late.....hit me pretty hard....and , ironically, she comes out of the car calling me a stupid f**k rolleyes.gif .
First i thought this is bad luck (another guy crashed into my other car running a red light two months ago with no insurance....still owes me $2700 for fixing my car) but now i kinda think it's not so bad at all.....the celi needs new paint desperately so i just hope I'll get enough money from her insurance to fix it and get new paint al around.
So, how much do u guys think i would get for this.
Thanks.smile.gif

lol, damn mercurians tongue.gif

anyways, best bet would go to a GOOD bodyshop where they will make it factory perfect. get an estimate from them (should be pretty pricey) n then shove that in her face. it will prolly be 30-40% more than you would pay to have it done someplace else, but its a good way to try n get some extra money outta it biggrin.gif

btw, her insurance is gonna pay for it rite? u said u hope the insurance pays for it..

thanks guys .........yeah, her insurance should cover it.......I'll probably get an estimate from a price shop around here and then call her insurance and claim it........i just hope i can get enough to paint it all and maybe get a nice body kit (even if i need to add some money from my own pocket)

I got behind her right when she was leaving her driveway.......and she drove for like 50ft. and just stopped and started backing up.....she was telling the cop that she forgot something home and i just came behind her out of nowhere laugh.gif ......they arrested her in the end for some warrant that she had on her name......I didn't even felt sorry for her tongue.gif
Anyway, today I got some estimates from 2 shops around here......one's for 2300 and the other is for 2900......best part is that i bought the car 3 years ago for $2400....so I either repaint the whole car(and maybe a body kit) or, if they think is total, I get another one.
So thanks every1 for your thoughts and I'll keep u guys posted.

Hey everyone.......for whoever was watching this thread I'm sorry I didn't post anything for the past 2 months......I've had some rough time fixing the car and I was just a step away from getting rid of it.......anyways.....what happened was that I got an estimate of $2300 for the damages, but 2 days later, geico(they were supposed to cover it) called me to say that they'll only pay 75% of the damages, because I wanted to pass the car that hit me in a no passing zone rolleyes.gif ......so i tried explaining, i sent them the police report(i didn't get any ticket or citation), stayed on the phone with them for hours but still nothing. So, in the end I filed a complaint with the state insurance commissioner and about three weeks later, geico calls me back to tell me that they just sent the check for the 75% two days ago(i got it today) and the other one, for 25% will be going out today.So... I'm pretty happy right now, my car'll be done in about a week or so(including new paint all around).Cant wait to put some pictures.

Just as an advice,.....if u got geico insuring you're car then cancel it asap.....and if they need to cover your damages then.....God help you:). Just google "geico reviews" and u'll know what I'm talking about.

man, its like that will all insurance companies.... i was dealing with a person I whacked with my corolla for cutting me off and driving on a snapped axle for another 1/2 mile, her car was shaking like the whole thing was like an S just bouncing back and forth, I never expected to do that much damage on a 2001 Dodge, and practically nothing happened to my car, just damaged fender, no light, bumper damage, and hood... all on right side... anyways......the person never called in so they said that told me that im ****ed.... I kept pushing the people into calling, but they never picked up...never called in and nothing...i pushed em hard enough, threatened the company to take them to civil court, I got my cop buddies to pull ALL info on the people, and i made it baletnly clear I am not f***ing around... 2 Months later... I got 3000 for a car that barley was worth 300... btw the company i was dealing with was "Country" insurance... one of the most expensive/best insurance companies in IL... this is what rich people hit...the chick i hit was rich... so i lucked out

with that kind of stuff i wouldn't f around with. i have allstate. i know i could get cheaper rates and all but with a big insurance company like that i know they aren't going to jerk me around nearly as much as smaller companies will.
when my 97 le was totalled i was lucky that the other guy had another bigger insurance company cuz i wasn't about to be jerked around when she was fully in the wrong.
the reason that a lot of those smaller companies push you around is because they know that some people will think "oh that's the best they can do. oh well for me"
enough of my rant smile.gif

def post some pics of the finished job

I had allstate once, and I regret it...overpriced, and you don't get covered for anything

Right now, I have 3 cars, all covered through Farmers Insurance...
94' Celica - FULL COVERAGE, WITH COMPREHENSIVE - $60/month
01' 4runner - FULL COVERAGE, WITH COMPREHENSIVE - $80/month
96' 3.2TL - FULL COVERAGE, WITH COMPREHENSIVE - $60/month

My mum is also with them, my sister too...we all know the guy pretty well... when i finished school he gave me extra discounts, i've been done with school for a year almost and I'm still getting "Good Student Discount" I was never a good discount... I have a horrible driving record (no accidents, had 3 tickets which got cleared and now have 2 more) The guy is straight forward with me, told me that they dont care about tickets until you get into an accident, then they scan your record... so now hopefully I dont get in an accident... Anyways, point being, the small companies know how to treat you right too...It's a matter of looking around and testing different places...

Edit: Oh, btw... I'm 19... at 21 those rates get lowered... they just got lowered, well 2 of them... the 4runner will go down to $60... at that point it wont lower anymore...

IMO the paint looks good, but then again I'm not there in person to see the paint. I think you should get the clear turns and sidemarkers, because it goes so well with a dark colored car like yours. Car came out nice though.
