sup, im in search of advise, lol.

Im trying to decide if i should graduate distinguished achievement plan or not. But to do so i have to take another year on Spanish, which i always struggle in. If I don't take it I will be able to go to work alot earlier, and it will make my senior year really easy, except calculus

basically im just asking if graduating with DAP helps at all? Im going to junior college for 2 years, and then ima go to University of Texas to finish on a degree in engineering.
Thanks for any help smile.gif

from my experience, they look at school rank and SAT/test scores.

DAP would be a gold star on your college application. Without any gold stars you better be 4.0 student to get the same sort of attention as those with the gold stars.

Its only one more year, just suck it up and take the spanish class and graduate with something you can always be proud of.

If you were going straight from HS to college, then maybe. But depending on your grades, SATs, extra circulars it might not matter. All that you do in HS is only to get into college. If you think you have what it takes to get into U of Texas already then it wont matter. If you were applying to Yale or MIT, then you would need it.

Then again, you are planning on going to CC for 2 years first. Because of this, the university will consider it a transfer and then place more scrutiny on your performance there than anything else. In this case, a DAP in HS wont matter too much if you crap out and get a 1.0 GPA in CC.

looks like i might be staying in there laugh.gif
its not like im a bum at school or anything, i have 19 credit hours starting for senior year for college and im in allot of extracurriculars, business professions of America, technology students of America, and national honors society. I'm also gonna graduate top ten percent. still working on my sat score though, i got a 780 in math, but like a 400 in writing and English .
But would the second college look back at my stuff in high school, or just at the other college?
