Hey guys, just trying to get a feel for a good alarm... I want a 2 way system with remote start and can easily adjust the sensitivity of it... I was looking into Viper and another brand called black widow caught my eye... Needless to say its time for an upgrade from the factory alarm, thanks for anybodys input smile.gif

well, heres the thing, you can pay 50 bucks or you can pay 500 bucks it all comes down to how its done, if you get it done like **** that the guy breaking in your car can get to it easly and rip it apart there is no point of a 500 one... they will both do the same job... with my car I hid everything even the arm light... the valet button is cleaverly hidden.... only i would know where it is... so if someone tries to break in my car they wont know i have an alarm... honestly look for a known alarm that you can get support from a shop if you have issues..... Avital, is mid grade...

since hes been here for four years Im pretty sure he knows how to install the alarm properly. What ever you do dont get the cheapos from ebay, chances are you'll get a chinese product (which isnt bad) but everything inside the box are in chinese. I got one and I still havent got a clue how to use it LOL...instalation was a breeze though. If you can read chinese you can have it for cheap.

Thanks for the input lubu... I did some searching for the pageguard you were mentioning and had no luck... An alarm on ebay called the autopage caught my eye though, and even though its a little pricey I still like it a lot, even better than any of the viper alarms. What do you think about this one here?

that's an excellent alarm, mine is the same brand but a different model, it has a lot of options if you wanna get extras, like temp sensor so you can see the temp in the car on the display, window modules, motion sensors, turbo timer, etc. I've had mine for over a year now and I love it.

the only thing I think you can find it cheaper than that somewhere else. I paid US$200.00 for mine.

Here are some infos on the 8500s http://www.caralarm.net/new_eng/index_e.htm
The autopage is solid built but doesnt have many features like the 8500s.
