250 N/A is a tad high...

you could probably get 170 or so with a decent amount of work. if you're swapping, at least do the black top. but if you are looking for that much power why don't you just swap a 3sgte?

i would like to keep all this car fully functional suck as a/c power steering all that and from what i am told the 3s you cant get that with that swap and how much harder is it to to a 3 than a 4age? does it bolt up or do i need new every thing?

i'm pretty sure you lose power steering with the 4a too, hell i dont even have power steering right now, its fun! the 4age will fit alot better than the 3s. since i'm assuming you have an ST as your thing says, you'd have to get custom GT motor mounts and a few other things to keep the 3s in there.

The 4A or the 3S series will not work either with your AC or your P/S unless you fabricate some new lines. Either way have you thought about going turbo with your 7A? This might be a much cheaper alternative to power vs swapping out a whole new motor and having headaches down the road.

i have put some thought into a turbo but the 7a in it now is burning oil and not sure how much life it has in it. turbo would only shorten that life span. but if i rebuild the motor and turbo it what kinda power would i be looking at with maybe 8 psi boots?

If you want a 250hp na non 3s engine start looking into a 9age. 7a block, 4age silvertop head *2nd generation would be best*, 2zz rods, 1zz crank, 4age pistons. There will have to be a bit of maching work on the rods, pistons, and crank to make them play nice together, but it has been done a few times on other boards. I am not sure if the setup will rev as high as a stock 4age though.

I doubt that setup will even work...

I would just consider turboing a 4AGZE just to get even near that 250 HP mark.

First off... the MAX you can bore out a 4AG block is 83mm... that's 2 mm larger than stock. You can stroke with a 7A block (and bore MAX to 83mm), but you'll still need a custom crank to hold the revs. There is NO WAY POSSIBLE due to the PHYSICAL limitations of the motor to push that sort of power and have it be a practical street motor. It's a 1.6... 1.9 at best (bored/stroked 7A block), so the only way you're ever going to see 240+ hp is to rev the crap out of the sucker.

If toyota engineers could only reliably do 240hp at 10,000 rpms out of a RACE motor, how would some random dude be able to beat that? AND... the FA 4ag's aren't very streetable motors. Only way to make that sort of power fairly reliably... Turbo charge it. Not practical in n/a trim.
