Well, i needed a couple of new tyres and got prices around £60 each, so i had a scan on Ebay and found a set of Gen 7 wheels, with almost brand new Goodyear eagle tyres on starting at £79.99.

I put my bid in, then to my surprise, noone else bid so for less than the price of 2 tyres i had myself a set of wheels and tyres biggrin.gif

They were a bit shabby as you'd expect for a Gen 7 part smile.gif

So i sanded them down (a lot) and stuck some primer on:

Decided on Smoke grey metallic for the colour, i think they have come out pretty well, not used to them yet as my other ones were much darker, but i think i like them. They're not perfect up close but they look pretty **** hot for £80

Plus as they're standard celica wheels, i won't get raped by my insurance company wink.gif

So that's how i spent my week off work smile.gif

I didn't know aftermarket rims can mess with your insurance rates.

Maybe it's a UK thing, but you're supposed to declare any mods here, my insurance company wanted an extra £120 ($240) per year for non standard alloys mad.gif

and Jason: I'll try to get some more. Watch the For Sale section......

is this the photo shoot that you killed the bird with? lol
i like the new rims
there are a set nearby for 160 that i am debating on picking up that have been powdercoated white. the only thing is the tires are shot on them and it's a good hour drive. i know it's a good deal but tires are xpensive. especially when i can get a set of 17''s with tires brand new shipped for 520

Ahh, those things are awesome, got them off ebay, they are like 4 curved pieces of card with a sticky side, i'll try to find a link later, guess you could just make some though, you just bend them and push them into the gap between the tyre and the rim.

genius.
