Hey guys, I was wondering if this was illegal or not. Shortly after taking out the resonator, I took my car for a slight 'spin' and just fell in love with the sound. So now I'm thinking about just putting a straight pipe in place of the resonator or some cheap straight through, maybe a Cherry Bomb Glass Pack, and cutting off my muffler. So I was wondering if cutting off my stock muffler, but replacing my resonator with a Cherry Bomb Glass Pack muffler in place of my resonator would be legal. Oh, here's a short clip of the sound with no resonator and just a gap in my exhaust system, yeah, I know, bad for the car. tongue.gif

Thats not loud at all. Since you live in Michigan I doubt cops will pull you over for that. You guys probably don't have strict emissions law like here in MN so go for it its your car. But I think you should keep the muffler on bro. If you want sound get an aftermarket muffler, but then again thats ricey. Either do a whole custom setup or bet a catback setup. Thats just my opinion though.

Look up your state laws. There is no US exhaust law.

But in my state of VA yes that would be illegal. You are not legally allowed to do anything to the exhaust that came on the car.
