ok im trying to turbocharge my 7afe im making a list of what i need and let me kno if im missing something:

Take out the vortech FMU. It does crap for you. You have the right idea with the upgraded injectors and fuel pump. I say get an apexi safc to control your fuel.

Question: I've heard that you can pull the injectors out of a mk3 supra's 7M-GE and put them into a 3S-GTE because of the same head. Is there an engine with better fuel injectors that use the F series head that can be put into the 7A?

thts to expensive its like $250 im trying to turbocharge it under $1500.
well hurley97 said the best injectors for the 7A is the high impendance. |

a turbo setup under 1500 seems impossible but good luck, you need a bov, new exhaust, expect ic piping, hoses and clamps to rack up the bill.

Sorry but $1500 isn't going to give you a reliable turbo set-up. If you are using a t3 turbo and if its not used thats almost half your budget. Lews right. You still need a bov and intercooler and piping. If you're running bigger injectors why use an fmu? You're still going to have lean spots at higher rpms. I'm telling you you're risking blowing your motor. If you want a cheapo turbo set-up why not get a civic?

my celi is my first car idnt want a civic i have an acura integra im working on also i get cheap stuff from this guy at california speed thats what i meant by $1500 if i didnt get discount from this guy it prob come out to $3500 my t3 turbo was onli 350 and it came with a greddy bov and the oil line the im buying an intercooler but i need a proper mesurement for my stock front bumper and im follwing nik 7afte bible and hes 7afte came out pretty good. so idnt need an FMU if im getting bigger injectors??

haha...im doing it for $1500 and a pretty good turbo setup...rihgt now i have my trubo,BOV, oil line, turbo header on its wayy, downpipe, downpipe flange, injectors, spark plugs, and ive only paid $950 so far with the intercooler FMU and the walbro fuel pump is all i need and tht will be it witch prob bring it up to $1200 or $1300

i have an oil feed line.. ECU for my celi been looking everywhere no luck all i can do is just reset it.

You need an e-Manage at minimum. The S-AFC is garbage and will not do anything good for you. I'm glad that thief stole mine from my Celica. Trust me. I've had this setup for four years. The S-AFC will allow you to run decently, but not fine tuned enough to get enough power or good fuel economy. The 7A is not a strong engine, so if you are planning to slap a turbo on it while keeping the stock internals, you need to at least extract as many safe, reliable ponies as you can out of the low boost level you could run without straining the internals to failure. Why settle with 170 WHP from an S-AFC tune, when you would get 20-30 more with a better tune from an e-Manage or a full EMS? I mean, the e-Manage is a piggyback still, but with all the harnesses, you can adjust timing and get more ponies out of that puny air your turbo is compressing, LOL. An S-AFC is fine for a car that can handle boost, like a Supra can get 600 WHP with one, but if you tune it with a standalone, you'll get more, but at least the engine holds enough boost to get some decent power. Not our case with this econo-engine.

Agreed, able to retard timing while boosting is critical. That is where Emanage stand strong over then SAFC. Not to mention mapping point.

You either need a 3S-GTE turbo pressure sensor, or a Missing Link bypass valve which is what I'm using. At least, some fish tank check valves will work. I used them for over two years and they worked perfect, contrary to popular belief. *What about the wastegate? Unless you're running an internal one, you will need one, and a manifold with a flange for it. You need the flange that goes from the exhaust manifold to the pipe which will become a downpipe, and the metal gasket that goes in between the two mating surfaces. *You need couplings, preferably Purosil, for the intercooler piping, and t-bolt clamps to secure them properly. *Forget about Bosch Platinum garbage. Use regular NGK V-Power grade 8 spark plugs. They're very cheap, and work the best, so you'll thanks me later. *Along with the e-Manage unit, to get the most out of the tuning, you need the additional injection harness, ignition harness, boost pressure harness, boost pressure sensor, and the support tool CD with the cable. Well, I could make you a copy of my CD, unless you get an Ultimate. I did my research and the e-Manage Blue is no slouch. My buddy's 2ZZ-GE pumped out 505 WHP using an e-Manage Blue, so the thing works more than great for being a piggyback. Some people that went to the Ultimate claim that they would go back to the Blue. The Ultimate has additional fuel map storage, so you can swap from a street tune to a track tune, and it also has a self-tuning feature to give you a baseline tune, along with other gadgets. For the power goal you're aiming for, the cheaper Blue will work great, and you can get them used on eBay for very cheap, since people think the Ultimate is the holy grail, and they sell their Blue units. For injectors, you need high impedance 16 ohm ones. Mazda MX-6 Turbo/Ford Probe Turbo injectors are more than enough for 200 WHP. They get that power out of their engines, which are bigger than ours. You'll need to cut the 7A-FE harnesses and solder the other ones, but it's too easy. I did it and I'm fine and dandy. Intercooler? Hmmm, this is a very custom thing. There are a thousand and one ways to route intercooler piping. I got mine redone two times after the first time, which were a complete crush bend disaster. You need a boost controller if you're planning to boost higher than the stock wastegate setting. I've used a TurboXS manual, a Turbonetics manual, a GReddy Profec-B Spec-2 and my actual Blitz Dual SBC Spec-S. The latter two work similar and are great. You can adjust boost response. It works great. You need an EGT gauge. Forget Autometer pyrometers. They respond too slow. Get a GReddy peak and hold unit or an HKS peak and hold unit. You can replay how high the EGTs went. It helps you out. They respond very fast, too. You need a boost gauge to know how you're boosting. An electronic boost controller will tell you that, but get a boost gauge so you have two different sources. If one fails, you have the other one as back-up. My Autometer Phantom boost gauge is dead-on accurate with the Blitz EBC. How are you planning to control that Walbro fuel pump? You need an adjustable 1:1 fuel pressure regulator, like an SX, or Aeromotive unit, and a fuel gauge to know the fuel pressure. You need braided fuel lines for the feed and return, and required fittings to connect all that stuff properly and have a reliable fuel system. Don't trust rubber hoses. Remember this will not be a puny stock fuel pump on stock injectors. Fuel pressure will be considerably higher. Better be safe than sorry. You'll spend a lot of money, but the stuff will last, and you can use it on another car later on in life. Two birds killed with one stone. I did my homework years, and was the second 7A-FTE since Celica.net, so I know what the engine likes and what it dislikes. I've spent a lot of money, more than most, but I could reuse this stuff or sell it. If you skimp and go the "easy" route, you'll lose in the end. Trust me. Many people did and they broke the engine and quit the project. I'm really nauseous, so I'm going to bed. I'm feeling dizzy and sick. This reminds me of my fren setup which he was going to let go now.
The only thing his setup doesnt suits me its his microtech (don't ask me why i hate microtech) application and his direct ignition coil setup. Should i get his setup, i will need to use standalone ecu to control the ignition. Make you a list? I just typed up a bunch of stuff, and normality78 also. You have your list there. Or you want to also have the parts bought, and the turbo system installed and dyno-tuned for you too? We could do that. At least do some work, too. Don't expect everything to come to you in silver trays.
