ok, since ive been surfing this Forum ive been looking at everyones pictures and mods theyve done the their Celi. and i have to know how you guys do it. im not talking about how machanically,i mean funding and time. I mean i have somethings that keep me from being about to spend a lot of money to mod my car, my daughter and my wife eat my money up pretty well, bills and what have you but i know im not the only one here that has responsibilities like these. If you saw my Celi you would cry, im just now able to afford a EGR valve and a new Brights head light assembly that im hopping will allow it to pass inspection. and dont get me wrong, i love my car and would work on it ........most of the day if i could, but some of the things you guys have done are crazy.

im not looking for advice, and im not bashing you all either, hell more power to yah

Im just wondering how you all did it, and how much time it took for you to get to where your at now.

Easy answer. Not many of us have what you have; meaning a wife and daughter. The fact that you have a daughter is enough to drain the money out of your pockets but thats still cool that u got all that. Im not saying thats a bad thing cuz I'd be more worried if you had a daughter and was spending all the money on the Celica to tell you the truth. Most people here are still in school and live at home and dont have too many expenses.

true, for example, i dont have the required expenses that you have. my money goes to girls, alcohol, college, and my car, and the little i left over i save tongue.gif also keep in mind some of us have had our cars awhile. a small bit here and there adds up over time.

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.

Real Simple:

1: No Girlfriend ATM!
2: I still live with my parents with no running costs (food/electrical bill etc etc)
3: My (only) interests are the Celica and Computers (which also earns a bit of money cash-in-hand)
4: I'm (at least I think I'm) very good with handling money. No rush actions to buy something the moment I see it.
5: I work Full Time and lots of overtime .

I sell my ass on the streets..... j/k. I wonder the same thing, but I've learned that it takes time and lots of searching. You don't want to get working on the celica anyway, because you'll catch the mod bug and end up wanting to do a lot the the celica.

I doubt you are going to get a lot of people posting that their parents give them everything, they live at home and are spoiled. They are out there, but that should be expected.

I think having a family to spend money on is a more worthwhile investment than a car that will keep depreciating over time smile.gif

some people don't have as many responsabilities as you do, but some others do, it's insane to dump a whole paycheck in a car even if you don't need the money for anything else, most people here have built their cars over the years, is not a 2 months process, you just need to know what you wanna do to the car and what parts you need to acomplish that, then start buying stuff one thing at the time. Being patient is the key, cars is an expensive hobbie and is the wosrt wasted money ever, you don't get back the money you put on cars, but we sure have fun smile.gif .

Hell no!!

Getting drunk every weekend going out to the bar/disco and waisting 150-200 dollar/euro on drinks and taxi (need to get home wink.gif is what I call really wasting money. Only thing left at the end of the night/morning is you pissing away all the expensive drinks and maybe got some ****** smile.gif

Dont know if that culture is the same in the US, but here it is for young people.

Oh I forgot. You guys cant drink below 21. We can laugh.gif laugh.gif

I have to agree. A lot of the people on here have had their Celicas for YEARS! I've only had mine for a few months, and I thought when i first bought it that I was going to put mod after mod after mod into it. but after the first few mods, I began to truly realize how expensive it is, and how much time it requires. So now i'm just putting little by little into it. It'll take a few years to get it where I want it, but once i get it there it'll make it all worth it!

How I did it? Hmm..a whole year in Iraq and total of 18 months serving active Army NG status=bling bling. Not the whole thing went into the celi though. It only happened because wife called that the car's engine was broken, which fueled my passion of restoring the celica and putting in another engine biggrin.gif Rest of the cash went into savings and paying off my SUV.

little by little you will see the aftermarket parts start to stack up. $100 here $50 here next thing you know 5 years will go by and a nice chunck of change will be on the car...... just give it time.

also not to mention buying used / discount parts is also a good way.

ill be selling the following in the next week or so just let me know if you want them. ill let them go for very cheap.

GT4 carbon fiber spoiler blocks
GC Coilovers
Rear Cusco strut brace

PM me if your interested.
