when my wheel is dead straight, its ok, but once i go past about 10 degrees to the left of right it will make this "clunk" noise. it sounds like its coming from somewhere near where the firewall and "cab" meet.... any ideas? and i dont think its lack of power steering fluid, its exactly full-but not too full.... any ideas why?

This happens to me as well. In the morning when it is cold outside and my car is warming up, I will reverse out of my driveway. When I get to the end and start turning the wheel it clunks like 3 times.
Usually it happens after I go too an almost extreme of turning my wheel. Like almost all the way to one side or the other. Then it's like something clunked out of a socket because when I turn it in the opposite direction, it clunks once more. A mechanic told me its no biggy cause it wont be too bad now, but later on when it gets worse, there will be a lot of play in the steering. -------------------- |

if its a cv joint wouldnt it only do it on one side? i mean usually only 1 cv joint goes at a time, and this is defiantly coming from near where my feet are, my dad suggested a tie rod, or steering knuckle?

Mine does it too. Clunks @ both extreme turns. -------------------- |
