Thanks guys ! I got the same alarm brand new for $210 shipped to my door and had to pay a local shop $30 to install it on my civic. It works great. Even though I never use most of the features, I LOVE it. I also have the viper 791xv installed on my '95 celica. I paid $450 for that one 4 years ago. It still works perfect. I don't use most of the features on that one either. Both alarms are basically the same except the Clifford 50.5x has the one mile range feature. |

u mean 300 installed on the civic rite? 30 sounds too cheap. also, what of the turbo timer and the remote start for the manual tranny if u have it? does it work fine on both alarms?

Nope. I got my clifford alarm installed for $30 because I bought an alarm with remote start for my mom's Rav4 for $300 installed with 5 yr warranty from them. That's why the guy agreed to install my clifford alarm for cheap. Remote start works fine on both cars, though I don't recommend remote start on cars with manual trans due to the possibility of rolling. Sorry, I can't help ya with the turbo timer part because my cars are slow stockies.

many places will not install a remote start on a manual car in case you forget to put it in park...they dont want to be liable for any accidents.

jsut spoke to a place, they said i had to sign a waiver of liability, and it would cost 79/hr if i bought the alarm there, or 99/hr if i brought in my own.

i used to have a Clifford Matrix RSX starter/alarm. the starter part of it would only work in an auto. now i have a Compustar PRO (i'm not sure if you guys get that in the U.S.) and has 4 or 5 times better range, no jokes! i can be 15 mins of walking distance and start my car or check the temperature or whatever.. the RSX module (not sure if it has the same range as the 50.5x) is that i can have my car within visual range (about 80 yards) and still couldn't pick up any signal from the remote most of the time.
what i hated the most about the Clifford units was their settings could only be programmed when you're in the car (by hitting the program button manually under the dash) but with the Compustar models, everything can be programmed from the remote which makes things waaay easier. -------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

I HAVE A QUESTION... I ALREADY HAVE AN STOCK ALARM SYSTEM WITH KEYLESS ENTRY... IF I GET AN AFTERMARKET ALARM SYSTEM WITH KEYLESS ENTRY/REMOTE START CAN I USE THE STOCK WIRES OR DO I HAVE TO PULL ALL OF THEM AND REPLACE THEM WTIH THE WIRES THAT ARE GIVEN WITH THE AFTERMARKET ALARM
