For those of us in Portland, we're fine.

For those in Scappoose (about 15 miles NW of Portland), they can't get through to Portland that I know of. (That's where the mudslide went across the highway - it took out two houses but there are no injuries or fatalities, I believe)

For those at the coast, the power's coming back on little by little.

For those in Vernonia, which is also about 20 miles NW of Portland (not far from Scappoose, I think), they're in DIRE need of just about everything. Many of the residents have been flooded out of their homes and have lost everything. The town needs cleaning supplies desperately! And they're trying to decide if there's anything left from their schools that is salvagable, including the buildings themselves.

My question is, what about everyone in the MIDDLE of the country, like Oklahoma!? I heard many won't have power for another WEEK! And more rain/ice/snow is supposed to hit them on Saturday. (they originally got the storm we got here in Oregon/Washington, but it got colder as the storm moved east)
