how much better are kyb gr-2 than the stock struts

Technically they ARE oem replacements. But I here from others that they are a bit stiffer than stockies. To be honest I don't really feel the difference. Maybe go out and get some Koni adjustibles or bilstien and you'll feel the stiffness.

well love em but im not a judge o n them becasue my orginal oem's were shot all the way felt like i was ina military hummer. So of course my celi felt brand new when i got this kyb's. had them for a year and half no complaints, got em cheap on ebay too and installed my self. oh yeah on rear strut assembly bolts use a breaker bar, my air tools go to 140 psi and wasnt enuff to loosen them

I heard somewhere that Toyota uses Monroe shocks as stock?

Yes toyota uses Mcpherson set-up opposed to the super strut suspension they use on the gt-four and the ss-III. BUT Griffgirl was talking about the brand of struts used on the celica from factory. I think Monroe is the factory struts too, but not sure.

Toyota uses Tokico's stock. You can kinda see Tokico stamped on the casing.

MacPhearson is a design/type of suspension. It's not a brand... wink.gif
