okay, i know this is covered in the sticky; "The more you spend the better"

However; out of a few brands, i am trying to figure out witch i am going to purchase. I'm looking for the Blitz front with the invader sides and rear. Now, i WILL NOT buy theese off of ebay. Yeah i could get em for 100 bucks, but will it be anything decent? NO~

Body-Kitz.com offers a nice selection, but due to the fact they wont even give you the name of the manufacturer, I dont really want to trust them to deliver a quality product. Plus One member of this fourm (I forget the name) had a really bad experience with Body-kitz.com.

So I've been looking at Andy's wares, and it would seem there are a few good buys. I dont want to spend $1000 for this... So my question is if anyone has any experience with the following manufacturers:

AIT Racing - VS
Duraflex - Extreme Dementions
VFiber - Vision

Or look for yourselfs here:

http://www.andysautosport.com/toyota/1994_...rior/body_kits/

So if anyone has an opinion on theese 3 brands, i would love to hear all feed back possible.

Be carefull about buying a full body kit b/c it might be intended for hatchbacks only and the rear bumper/lip you get might not fit on a convertible/coupe.

This would be a great opportunity to bring up another point regarding Body parts and Trim Models. Because BlueVert is right, Our convertable take slightly different body parts than the coupe/hatchback models. Even our fenders are different. Obviously the roof and turnks are different too, but this is a good point.

I have only seen my convertable. Well, i've seen pics of fourm members, and seen some at the Houston Meet; But i havent really had my hands on any other model but my convertible.

I wonder who would know the differences between the trim models and body kit pieces. How would you know what model it was intended for, And why am i not seeing any said information on this at the kits info page? It just says 94-99 Celica.

besdies the roof obviously... i believe the coupes and verts share all the same pieces - 1/4 panels, fenders, bumpers, trunk lids etc.

so anything bodykit related that fits a coupe, should also fit a vert. you can get a hatch rear lip, but your going to need to do some custom fab to get it to fit. i think its like a total of 4 inches or so that coupe people add in the middle to extend the length. i could be wrong, so double check

okay let's talk.............

most people usually think "celica" as mainly hatchback.......like the gen.7's only came hatchiez.

i get people telling my friend(s) "did they really came coupe?" for both 6gc and my gen.5 friends.

so generally since ALMOST every kit company is like most of the community "they just assume" that if you have a celica (listed 94-99) then it must be a hatch version without any other description listed.

some companies DO know what they're talking about and have diff. versions for coupes/verts and hatchez.

but you all should know that they're only out there to make $$$$.

if you're going to get a kit "be very careful" and actually call them and ask a crap load of Q's and see if they can answer them.

just like when you ask a Ricer, " does your civic come with rotary engine off the factory?" kinda reminds me of that youtube vid with the guy and the mustang "GTR" and agress when the guy taping asks, "did your stang come with the rotary??"

well back to topics...........

if you DO get a kit make some friends that know how to do custom fab. work. and prolly have exp. painting also.

that or you can just go in the "lip kit" direction.........as some of the guys know here.

oh what else do you have on your car???

if you're going kit then atleast have some rims and a small drop cuz it'll look funny if you have the stock 15's with a huge front and a big wheel to tire gap.

just my $0.02

Well i'm glad for the 2¢ - I love a good fourm thread more than anything else!

So, your telling me that the coupe and the vert have similar bumpers and skirts? I suppose that would make things a bit better.

Yes there is a wide assumption that ALL of us have hatchs. And that does infact make a great point to watch for.

Does anyone know what the fenders look like on the hatches/coups, near the bottom where the Front bumper meets the Fender? Does part of the bumper cover the fender? Pics would be fantasterific.

I do know plenty about fiberglass fabrication. My cousin ran a little Club Shop for years, If anyone has herd of Vertically Challenged. It's where i found my passion for autos!

As for paint, i am in need of a WHOLE car paint job so~

If you'd like to see my project thread, It's located here:
http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=55992&hl=

So as you can see, I've much work to do!! lol. I understand that any fiberglass body kit is going to require a bit of work to set properly, That's a given. However, some knock-off brands are known for having something that has been design stolen and re-molded so many times that it's no longer a product for our cars... Some kind of muntant-Radioactive-celica body kit laugh.gif LoL- laugh.gif

But it's true, This is why i was asking about those 3 specific name brands, Or any others that come to mind. I'm looking for somthing that will sit right; Without being deformed or something crazy like that.

front bumpers= universal for 6th gens
sides= universal for 6gc
back bumper is the only thing you have to be carefull about.
-There are bumpers specifically for hatches (which the majority of people have, so that's what most manufacturers make)
-Then bumpers that will fit coups and convertible, but not hatch (more rare to find though)

If I were you, I'd look into splitters for the back. It is possible to get a hatch rear bumper or lip to fit a coupe/convertible, but it takes a fair deal of customizing to make them work (same thing with spoilers, different for coupe/convertivble vs. hatch)

Great info! Thanks for that.

Humm... I've never herd of this splitter. Is it some kind of adaptor/harness to interchange rear bumpers?

splitters are extensions for your bumpers.

http://www.6gc.net/photo/member/4437/12

I know his car is a hatch, but it gives you a good idea of what they'd look like. I'm pretty sure the SS-III rear splitters (like shown above) will fit coupes/verts, but I'd have to check on that. Theres about 3 different types of splitters for our cars, so you could look around the site and see which you like best.

For the Blitz, i would just get the ebay kit because wherever u get em, its a nightmare to install from what i hear. Lots of bodywork involved where the side meets the fender. either ur gonna have to cut some of the fender or do somethin else with it. Its probably just as bad as the Combat kit. Besides i think its the ugliest kit for the Celica yet.

D-man - you say you have fiberglassing skills - well I have a VIS CF hood that has a crack in it [not gonna lie - that crack is huge - but repairable]. It's the one that looks vaguely like the GT4 hood but with better looking rear vents and a bigger center vent and it's already painted black and most of the repair work can be done from the bottom side.
You may want to check it out [there is a pic in my profile] - I'll let it go really cheap to you [or trade for parts I need wink.gif ]

i wonder if anyone on this fourm has installed one? It looks like it'd go over the fender, to give it that extra bulked up look, (And that's obviously the point of a blitz kit; looking bulky.) and i'm guessing that it secures where the fender meets with the splash guards, and if it dont, Then that'd be a good place for me to fabricate in a secure tab; assuming that said peice will cover the fender without bending outward on the upper section of that peice... (Side vent area)

Has anyone here ever installed a blitz kit? I also believe that the invader kit does the same, but not sure... i'll edit this out if it dosent.

Hummm.... I just talked to shadowFX located here:

http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?act=Ms...amp;MSID=197599
http://www.6gc.net/members/2178

And he's saying that it wraped arround the fender and bolted in with the splash guards. And that no modification to the fender was required.

I wonder if it is a difference in the trim models? Sh0gunkid, Where are you getting your information? I'm not being a Smart A- I'm really doing a conversion, and would like to know.
