Okay, so now with this Koyo radiator, I have noticed a few things. There was this brass colored pipe that went from stock radiator to something. This new radiator seems to have less things than my stock on did, like an insert for this brass pipe thingie. I had some antifreeze coming out of the radiator from near the cap, but I must have did something right, because it all stopped. Now I have a problem with my cooling fans, as they make this loud and horrible noise when they turn on. It is really embarrassing and I dunno what it could be. Maybe the motor? It sounds like a motor or like those machines that put air in your tires for $.50 as the gas station. When the fans stop, it has that same loud noise, but then it winds down. That's one of my questions.
The other question is how do I get my heater to work? I was having trouble getting it to work before and wasn't sure if it happened when they replaced my radiator hose and thermostat or after the clutch (going back as far as 3-5 months). I thought it was because I had a crack in my radiator up top, that maybe I wasn't able to feel heat from the heater. Now with a new aluminum radiator, I drove it around, hard on the freeway and still no heat. There is no difference from running the cold air and the heater, yet the ac appears to work (I think). -------------------- 91 MR2 Turbo SW20, 92 MR2 Turbo SW20, 95 Celica GT ST204

QUOTE(hongkongnerdboy @ Mar 5, 2008 - 4:53 AM) no need for a heater ![]() LOL No seriously but this stuff is really getting to me. What if I have a woman in the car? They get cold easy. Telling them to wear more clothes or dress for the season never gets you anywhere, trust me from experience. I need that heater to work, and I need to stop the fans from making that horrid noise. -------------------- 91 MR2 Turbo SW20, 92 MR2 Turbo SW20, 95 Celica GT ST204

ASSUMING you have the correct amount of coolant in your car, try flushing the heater core opposite from the flow of coolant. my water hose fit perfect in the heater hose. it may have some sht in it, just try to flush it out separately from the rest of the system and see if that works

the fans are making noise probably because the blades are hitting something.
the heat doesn't work because there isn't enough coolant in there and not enough to flow properly through the heater hore. make sure there fan blades can spin freely and fill the coolant with the car running and the heat on full blast. -------------------- |

Dude - did we really need 3-5 threads about the same thing? It makes it harder to help you with your questions.
What Batman said [don't know why I didn't think of it sooner in the other thread] - check the fan blades to be sure they aren't hitting their own shroud. Then be sure the shroud is clearing the motor mount, cruise control etc. About the heater - it's probably like what Batman said. Did you burp the system before you drove te car r did you just fill it up and call it a day? Air will becometrapped in the coolant lines and in the motor and it will eventually work it's way to the top of the system causeing you to not have enough coolant to feed the heater core. I'd double check the level and be sure the overflow is filled to it's little fill line [some may come out the next time you heat up the motor but better some lost than not enough]. Also be sure to manually check the heater selector thing on the firewall. The cables may have broken like mine and until you get those fixed you will have to do it from under the hood. If that fails and all is full - check the CC controls. -------------------- ![]() ENGINE: '93 RC 3S-GTE/WRC CT-20b [18-20PSI] PERF: TRD/HKS/ARP/NGK/MSD/ACT/Blitz/STRI/APEX'i/TwosRus/GReddy/Magnaflo/KOYO SUSP: Tein/Bilstein/SusTech/ INT: SS-III SEATS/Toyota Hyper Sports EXT: WRC/TRD/404 Its a safety feature so that people like you don't end up killing themselves or everyone around them. Okay thanks. And I only posted two regarding the fans. No one was replying and to me, this is something serious that I want to take care of asap. I missed my car and want to be able to drive it, if it is a quick fix, then I wish to be educated on the problem. The coolant was filled and then I ran the car but just until the temperature got normal. I even drove it on the freeway and such, there was something in there, because at first, fluid was finding a way to escape from being driven on the street. I adjusted the cap and I took that thing on the freeway where I put some high rpms into it. Came back home, it stopped leaking fluid (assuming it probably came from overflow or a loose cap). I just want to take care of that fan sound mainly, and after summer see what's up with that heater.
When my radiator had a crack in it, there was smoke coming from it. I am not sure if this would be a problem for an engine, but it never did try to overheat. The smoke really concerned me though and also yes, I was losing radiator fluid as well, but never did it try to overheat. Maybe I should check my thermostat too or something. Anyways, sorry for the other post, but I really needed help and felt one wasn't doing it. Besides, you can relate it to this, but technically, it wasn't exactly the same question. EDIT: DEATH! You were right! It was just rubbing! LOL Thank you so much ![]() This post has been edited by Random_Stranger: Mar 5, 2008 - 1:21 PM -------------------- 91 MR2 Turbo SW20, 92 MR2 Turbo SW20, 95 Celica GT ST204

Glad to have helped [But credit to Batman - I just beat the horse that was previously deceased]
Was it rubbin on the motor mount or the fan blades on the shroud? -------------------- ![]() ENGINE: '93 RC 3S-GTE/WRC CT-20b [18-20PSI] PERF: TRD/HKS/ARP/NGK/MSD/ACT/Blitz/STRI/APEX'i/TwosRus/GReddy/Magnaflo/KOYO SUSP: Tein/Bilstein/SusTech/ INT: SS-III SEATS/Toyota Hyper Sports EXT: WRC/TRD/404 Its a safety feature so that people like you don't end up killing themselves or everyone around them. Well see, we cut down the bottom side of the mount that is near the engine mount to get it in there. But there is also a cracked peice of mount on the side near the battery. That cracked piece was being pushed by my big batterey so instead of breaking off the piece like I should have, I just pushed it behind the cruise control. -------------------- 91 MR2 Turbo SW20, 92 MR2 Turbo SW20, 95 Celica GT ST204
