So after running some sea foam through my car on Monday I noticed something. While having it sucked up into the engine some smoke started coming out from under neath my heat shield kindasad.gif . Could someone possibly tell me what this is? Also, on a good note, the sea foam worked awesome. Car idles a lot smoother, accelerates a little better, and I have gotten better gas mileage after that and a new oil change.

could just be an exhaust leak or a bad gasket...nothin to worry about...make sure you change your oil after you use the sea foam thoguh because it thins your oil out

You only have to change your oil if you add the sea foam into your oil right? I mean if you suck it up through your vac or add it into your fuel it doesn't effect the oil at all. This is one thing I need to do to my car. Since I here that high mileage cars shouldn't be seafoamed due to worst things will show up after sea foaming.

I have 208 and worried about it. I doubt I'll run into issues through my vac and fuel, but its the oil I'm worried about.

It's fine on high mileage cars; yes, change your oil; no, don't add it straight to the oil.

Yeah, I read that its fine for high mileage cars. I have had nothing but good things so far.

The reason why most people don't recommend on higher mileage engines is because after putting seafoam into your oil it'll eat up all those sludge that was build up in your engine and will cause oil leaks thats been covered by the build up after seafoaming. If you have a higher mileage engine just suck it through a vac line you should be fine. smile.gif

And yes you need to replace your exhaust manifold gasket theirs a leak their keep an eye on your engine bay too when your seafoaming it'll tell you where you have bad gaskets or leaks that you need to replace or take a look at. wink.gif
