seriously, there had been quite a few time where the mods here abuse their power also if this is a repost i dont care, i want to state my opinion and not theirs

such as this one
http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=55272
like wth?!?! he was selling only 4 HID kits he had, he wasnt doing a group buy or sell, who cares if someone has a "VERY replutable seller for HID kits". what? do you think only one person should be allowed to sell one type of items? then are you saying there should only be a wal-mart and close down all the other targets?

and this one
http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=56069
guess he wanted to sell, but no he closes it and says "eric your NOT selling. period." gee call him personally and tell him your reasons why he shouldnt sell, dont close the thread so no one else can give him an offer,

as for this one

we arent breakin any rules, and you know the thread been pointless so no need to come and say
QUOTE(presure2 @ Mar 11, 2008 - 3:43 AM)
you guys REALLY need to learn to use the PM button.
this thread is 17 pages of usless.

well thank you, you just added more "useless" stuff to the "useless" thread
1. Try to keep your posts clean. These forums, like the rest of the site, are designed to be a family-safe environment, and that means that you must watch your use of obscenities. This also means not attacking others in your posts. Try to be friendly, especially to newbies, and treat others how you want to be treated.

2. Don't post pornography, spam, racist material, or anything illegal. These things will not be tolerated, and will get you banned from the forums.

3. For sale posts are not allowed in this forum. If you want to sell something not related to the sixth generation Celica, you will need to do it elsewhere, and not on this site.

^^ now i shall beleive you can leave us alone

theres plenty more, but i think you all get where im coming from.

so what now? are you gonna close this thread because i complained about you? are you going to find some excuse such as i spelled some words wrong to close it? or are you going to delete this thread becuase you dont like it and you have the power?

I like how you forgot Rule 4:

QUOTE
4. Please refrain from posting pointless posts, such as posts that are just smilies or posts that say stuff like "I'm with stupid" or "Page 2 Owned!"). This includes sarcastic posts about making fun of someone's car, or playful arguing with one another in a thread. These posts simply take over threads and turn them into useless garbage. Remember, the point of these forums is to discuss the sixth generation Celica.

i agree to a certain extent. there are a lot of retarded posts out there that deserve to be closed, but what i dont agree with are threads being closed cuz theres a lot of difference in opinions. If their views are differnt, let them argue. No harm in it.

i will say this is the strictest forum i go on. i like it like that though, on the others which are hilarious because of all the fighting and swears and comments ect, there isn't much info actually found there. just useless threads. know what i mean.

if people are going to post like children though then i guess you have to treat them like one also. you hang up, no you hang up, no you hang up....

Yuchen. I appreciate the concern, however this is the wrong way to go about it. Yes, there are other members that do feel the same way you do, but we cannot deal with it like this. Rude remarks will not be taken seriously. I know you feel strongly on the subject, but we need to take a breath and handle the situation appropriately.

Supersprynt, he did not forget rule number 4. He was referring to the off-topic forum rules. Please follow the link below.
off-topic forum rules

In off topic, there is no rule #4. It is meant to be off topic, which is it's main purpose.

I am absolutely and unequivocally NOT taking sides. But I have opinions on this, so I'm sharing anyway.

I agree wholeheartedly with HKNBs opinion about closing that guy's FS thread w/the HID kits. I myself will buy a kit from Culp, being that he's reputable and established. But I think the option for the other guy to sell should still be available, and the judgment should be on the buyer. The Target vs. Walmart analogy was a good one. On the other hand, it wasn't missed by me either that rule 4 about posting useless posts was left out. I myself am guilty and have contributed to useless posts - but primarily in the Off Topic forum, where IMO they belong.

I gotta say honestly, I'll call BS when I see it - a few people on here know that about me by now. I see a lot of people on here b1tching about stuff that frankly, to me, compromises their own credibility with the incessant whining tone to their "complaints." If you have a beef with someone, direct it TO that person in a PM or something and try to resolve it that way. I think this goes for both sides, users and moderators. There have been some threads shut down on here that I personally don't agree with them being shut down either. This just may be one of them. But the bottom line is really just kinda "love it or leave it".

Anyway, right or wrong, I'm just calling it as I see it, and I realize that may not be the same way others see it.

Wait- shouldn't this be in Off Topic? smile.gif

The only thing I'm going to say [not necessarily the only thing I'm thinking] is that the inevitable rude comment that always accompanies a thread being locked is completely unprofessional, unnecessary and generally un-moderator-like behavior. I believe the thread could be closed in a more adult manner.
And that's all I'm gonna say about that.

Strongly agreed. hi, you might not know me, im Alyssa, long time lurker, first time disputer. hello hello wink.gif . people NEED to argue and dispute. its the foundation on how people and society grow. its the building blocks of improvement. it was Bruce Lee who once said, "man is constantly growing, and when he is bound by a pattern or set of doing things, thats when he stops growing". we need arguements to look at things from different angles, different points of views. without it, this forum will fail to grow as a community.

off topic rules have not been updated since 2005.

the general discussion rules are dated 2006.

".....Please note that failure to comply by these rules will result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to the following:

1. Warnings through the warning system on the site.
2. Moderator-previewing of your posts, either for a specified amount of time or indefinitely.
3. Being banned from the site, either for a specified amount of time or indefinitely.

Thanks!

This post has been edited by Coomer: Nov 16, 2006 - 11:09 PM"

I guess its time to revise all rules or just make one rule to stop this confusion. Its a good thing what we have. This is a free service. We are not paying a dime. Coomer can just come one day and close it and thats it.

Lets not turn this into another fight. All forum rules need to be revisited i agree. But i think this is not the way to go about it....

its stuff like that, that is completely unnecessary. If u want to become a mod, just talk to Christian; it seems from all your postings that you try very hard to become a mod. why? i dont know. posts liks this don't help any cause. he's voicing his opinions about this topic. whether u agree or not be respectful towards his opinions.

But when people do so in a manner that depicts themselves as immature adolecents, it detracts from the site as a whole. There's no growth to be had in "your car sux" or "you're an idiot".
