I just saw the movie last night. and ho-ly sh!t is that a good movie. its one the best movies ive ever seen. I do MMA and i loved it and and even if you dont like UFC or MMA im sure u will love this movie. It has an EXCELLENT story line and awesome fights that leave you pumped with adrenaline. At the end of the movie people were shouting at the movie, clapping, almost like they were watchin a real fight. It was so intense. It really made me wanna fight and train more so thats what im gonna be doin in about 5 mintues. Very motivation if you want to train in MMA or already do like myself. i loved it, absolutly loved it.

I want to check that movie out. For some reason when I hear the plot (reminded me of Karate Kid) I got the theme from Karate Kid in my head and laughed my ass off. Still never the less, I am sure it is a very entertaining film. I am so turned off of MMA, because everyone in my town is into it. We even have a school that offers training for that here (or we did, forgot what the place was called but know it was downtown) plus so many indian casinos let any amateur just waltz in and fight. Mainly the guys we have here that are into it are steroid meat heads who do no cardio and live off of fast food. Plus most of them here have the smallest legs in the world, which if I recall from past experiences, you have no legs you got down easier. Anyways, this is regarding the movie, sorry I filled some sentences in there with senseless events regarding my city. I will be sure to check it out. Thanks Brent.

yea not even close. fight club isnt about teh fight part of it jsut in case you all know. its about the split personality he had. theres only fighting in fight club for about 30 minutes adn thats it, the rest is anarchy. Never Back Down has nothin to do with the weird concepts that fight club had

I went and saw it saturday night. I used to train martial arts for 7 years. Needless to say the movie made me get back in the gym the night I saw it.

haha no it definitly not like that. They really took the time to teach the actors alot of the techniques. every ground technique and submission i saw, were ones that i knew about. one especialy was the "knee on chest" this technique is in brazilian jujitsu where basicly you put ur knee on the opponents chest with all you weight on that knee. ive had it done to me several times and it is not fun, especialy if you gettin punched in the head. But anyway that was a move that i least expected to see, so they definatly did their research. Unlike fast and the furious when they didnt to much research as to what cars can do, *cough* maybe like you know, jumpin a skyline 100ft off and bridge over another car with getting minimal damage. haha

Just saw the movie last night, I enjoyed it.
I wouldn't mind giving an audition with someone to spar with--I love fighting. It's a family thing, been studying shaolin since I was eight. And then there's always that mix of street fighting that people naturally gain from watching TV and on the street and i'm amateur knowledge on that UFC stuff because i've quite some friends who are wrestlers.

Looks like a joke if you ask me. Gimmicky, like the Fast and the Furious. And will probably spawn fanboys like it that want to train in MMA. Where in the US is it like this? That MMA is such a big part, that they actually fight at parties. Looks like a crock. Someone said it best with the You Got Served comment. If MMA is your thing, I can see the appeal. I don't mind MMA, but I'm extremly strict on movies.

I dont know about MMA fights at parties but I know that when I was in HS that guys would get out the boxing gloves and duke it out among a circle of people for fun.

I have done some MMA fights at parties b4 the movie came out. PA is a good place to find MMA. its everywhere,you jsut got to know where to look. We've actualy had 2 tournements with alot of the guys from school. i won both haha but its good training for me in the long run and i know fanboys are gonna wanna go out and train in MMA but thats fine, maybe some will go big. im hoping i will but i trained in it before teh movie was thought about haha. MMA is a growing sport and is on the verge of taking out boxing entirely. Like i said b4 about the NBD, the fights were well done and someone took the time to study MMA enough and used acctual techniques.
