Front 96-99 turn signals:
i asked for help on this a while back, and never got a response, so went it alone. preheat oven to 250, put ONE light on a cookie sheet and put it in the oven for 2 minutes, pull it out and try to pry apart. flat tip screwdriver helps. probably won't be soft enough yet, so keep trying after 60-90 second trips to the oven. have a philips screwdriver handy for the orange bit. once you get the bit out, just toss it in the trash, along with the screw. put the lens back on (after making sure no round rubber pieces from the screw hole are in the way [didn't do that, and i have it floating around the inside of the housing]), and flatten any areas that are pushed up due to prying. stick back in oven for about 45-60 seconds. pull out and again, flatten anything that needs flattened. now, repeat with the second one and enjoy! JDM tails turn signal items needed: exacto knife or razor blade, hot plate or stove top burner. (or heat knife) turn light housing upside down, heat the blade up on the stove burner, cut all the way around the top of the blinker housing (the part facing up when it is upside down). the orange bit is huge in this thing, so make sure you get a big hole. you may heat the entire housing for about 60 seconds at 250 to loosen up the plastic and make it more pliable. once you get the top cut either off or pulled back (your choice), get a SHORT philips in there to take the screw out, and pull the bit out. superglue or caulk to put the piece back on, repeat with the other. if you run into any problems, lmk. -------------------- ~Andy

i kinda want to do it with my turns.
i like the more clear lenses but i like the amber part inside. don't ask me why i just do LOL. that's why i won't worry about removing that part out of my jdm tails. does anyone know if it would be possible to swap out the lenses of my procarparts turns with the stock ones? i think it would look really good. thanks i think i'm going to try it but hope i don't ruin them edit: hey bryan, do you have any pics of yours? sorry i don't mean to be a thread jacker or anything. i'm just assuming you were planning on doing something similar with yours axel This post has been edited by goferris: Apr 12, 2008 - 8:22 PM -------------------- |

@stetsonaw...thanks for the info. i just needed to know how NOT to melt them.
@valo666...PM me pics and price. i can use an extra set if i screw up my project . @goferris...no worries brother, still on topic. and the request for pics is always good. gives perspective. i am thinking of keeping the amber lens. i want to drill out the extra boss and add a 194 bulb as the park light and have a 1156 behind the amber lens for the turn signal. i may post progress pics, here or in another thread.
