Hi every1.jst joined the site recently so im a newb.Lol.neway 2 my prob.recently my abs light came on and now abs does not work as it has disabled its self.i have done the diagnotic test with a paperclip.And the code returned was code 23. wich is open or short curcuit in solenoid for the rear right wheel.does nebody have ne idea how 2 fix this?thanks,tys

sounds like an electrical connection issue. Ya gotta find the bad wire. (I think)

well ive checked the wiring 2 the sensor on the rear and had all the interior trim out.ive checked all the wires in the engine bay and everything seems fine.i thought the grage may have damaged the wire when they lowered the car.bt il keep searching 4 it lol.

Have you checked the fuses and relays? And the solenoid as it states?

I left the sensor a bit loose on mine before after doing work and the light kept coming on and going off then. May be something simple like that ?

i have checkd the sensor and the fuses bt nt sure how 2 test relays or the solenoids or where they r located.

If you're checking the wiring, are you using a voltmeter? I believe you can use it to check the solenoid and at least the wiring going to the sensor.

The solenoid is inside the ABS actuator [box with all the brake lines in your engine bay].
The solenoids are what physically control where brake pressure goes. Could be wiring, but most likely the solenoid is bad, which means you have to replace the actuator. Which is a lot of cash, and a bit of a PITA [bleeding ABS lines sucks, and IIRC the actuator is held on by 5 sided bolts, so a normal socket set won't work]. -------------------- |

i have now got a second hand abs unit.so cud ne1 tell me how hard is it 2 change and ne hints or tips 4 doing it.

Remove brake fluid of all calipers (release the bleed bolts and hamer the brakes panel till it feels flat). Loosen the 5 brake lines, remove the connectors and unbolt the bracket. Mounting is the reverse of removal. Bleed the brakes as good as you can, and/or drive to a garage and have them do it.
