I bought some NGK spark plugs on ebay and didn't realize that its for the older model Celica (88-89). I was wondering if anyone know if these would fit in the 95 Celica. Thanks
Here's what I bought. A very great deal.

I doubt it will work, because if you go on NGK's website the part number doesn't match with our gen celica. Besides the wires are for a totally different motor.

I never bought the wrong wires for my celi. tongue.gif but trying to judge from the pic it also looks like those distributer plugs are a bit big also~

IDK for sure. dont lissen to me, i'm guessing biggrin.gif

Why did you order them from ebay anyway? Well besides the cheap price, you could have gone to a NAPA and paid maybe 30 bucks more, but you'll know for sure they will fit your car.

Wait - I'll end this right now [as a former 4th gen owner/enthusiast I think I can end this].
The 4th gen never had a A series motor [3s-fe, 3s-ge and 3s-gte were offered on the various trim levels] and since your profile lists you as an ST and I assume that means you have a 7A-FE - these wires will NOT work. The boot is different as are the wire lengths and for all I know there may be differences in the resistance of the wires, the clips to the cap etc. Furthermore, the 7a doesn't have a coil wire [coil in cap design] so you should notice you are trying to replace a 4 wire set with 5 wire set - what were you gonna do with the extra wire?
Just get the NGK ultimate race class wires for your car [probably overkill but why not? They're not much more] and motor and call it a day.
for future reference: anytime you are replacing a part with a new part, be it OEM or aftermarket, it's a good idea to get the original peice and the replacement peice side by side and compare the way the mount etc to ensure compatibilty. It's just a good practise and I think we've all ordered "direct replacement" parts that were mislabeled or incorrectly identfied w/e. This takes the guess work out of the equation. wink.gif
Hope this helps.

BTW - Had it been S series to S series there still could have been differences in boot length etc. Just buy the right part for the right engine/car.

DEATH, i agree with you fully, but have to point out one item, (we recently discovered this) being a 94-95 motor, our coil is built-into our distributer. So we can take a (compatible) 5 wire set and it'll still work. We simply throw away the ignition coil wire. biggrin.gif (the 5th wire) It wont work Vice-Versa tongue.gif

However; As a result, i'm having trouble trying to figure out how to upgrade it for a turbo project. 96+ have an external coil so it's really easy to change frown.gif we're kinda screwed on that one~thumbsdown.gif

eh- win some loose some.

Thanks for all the great input. I was able to return the wires and get a refund. Anyway I found these and wanted to double check with you guys to see if its the right one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...3D88%26_fvi%3D1
It appear to be the right one. I even check the ngk website and this is the part # that was given for thr 6Gen St model. I have a question though. Its listed with not wire coil? Do we need the wire coil? Thanks

That looks good. I got the blue ngks on my 5s. Btw the wire coil is for the cars running individual coils and you arent. SO you are okay.
