anyone know how to change the licence plate light. i looked on the outside and saw that all the bolts were rusted. is this how in suposte to change these.

you can unmount hte licence plate holder,6 nuts if i remeber weel, you unplug the wire and you take it off

now you can manage to get those bolts properly wtih heavy equipement!

There are two plastic cups above the lisence plate. You'll need a phillips screwdriver. You unscrew them and pull the cup down. It's only held on by suction at this point. Once it's off you can pull the bulb out.

Don't let rust scare you. Did you even TRY?

mmm corosion scares me... i had a corroded distributor bolt and tried putting it back in and over torqued it and snammed it off in the block....
after that happening i just replace it wheter its rust or corrosion....

hmmm big difference here. Yours was a vital engine component. This is a screw.

i think he wanted to say that he cant unscrew the bolts normally because rust"eated" theyr head.

Mine were rusted beyond belief; busted out the dremel. Dont have the plastic covers anymore but its easy to change the bulb thumbsup.gif

They're some other number but 194 fits perfect. To the best of my knowledge it is illegal in most states to change the visibility of the plate in any way - including burned out bulbs, plastic covers over plate and I'm pretty sure changing the color is enough at least to write you a ticket and mess with you about you're other mods. But IDK for sure.

up here the law is you cant have any obstruction of your plates..even the like "midtown toyota" plate frames, illegal. But for bulbs you need white. What i did was got a set of PIAA GTX 168 bulbs for both my celica and SIR. They look like the plate bolts on the new IS350s. Really nice.
