I'm about to get an exhaust setup on my lil ST but I'm looking through ebay and there are a lot of different shapes and lengths and I was wondering, what is the best shape/size to get to have a nice deep tone? Just like most people I don't want the angry bumble bee sound I want it to make the 7a sound....stronger I guess.

Honestly, I know a guy that went with an eBay exhaust and has a 1.8L Eclipse (93') and it sounds very deep. It was one of those $30 shipped/total ones. I just ordered one as well and arrived after 1 full day. That was some quick shipping. The way I look at it, is that if in fact they really give you 10-15HP that they claim, you are probably only missing out on 5-10HP from a professional exhaust that you probably wouldn't really need until you consider heavy mods such as an engine swap. But no one ever claims to have heard a toyota celica sound like an angry bumble bee, those usually just come from Hondas for some odd reason. Well, at least the civic.

Go with the oval shaped street series magnaflow, its sounds great on my st and looks really clean as well.
The oval shape looks good with the rear of our cars. thumbsup.gif

I bought mine based on what another member said about it after i asked him how he liked his.
He also ahas a youtube vid after he installed it, thats what sold me. biggrin.gif

If you can find it on youtube, his names Freddytheothameat on here.

Not sure about the spelling of his user name? confused.gif

Magnaflow 14814 muffler. Oval body muffler, 4" double rolled tip/slash cut. Nice deep tone, quiet when u sit at idel, loud when u step on it. Its the one i have on my celica and the same one Nader has on his. I recomend it.

This is mine after i painted the body black...

I got a small 2.5" Magnaflow muffler for my stock ST and threw a DIY intake on it and it sounds amazing. Nice deep tones when you're on the gas, but nice and quite when cruising.

Is that a decent price? Just seems a little steep to me, although you cant get much better than HKS

It's for the Hi-Flow HKS. Now, it won't give you a loud sound, before I thought I wanted a loud sound. Now that I think about it, HKS will give you the power and that's all that matters. IF you get a sound of out it, it is going to sound mean! I just check out stuff on videos of people's cars. I think Apexi is like $200 plus shipping as well. So for an HKS at around $249 shipped, is pricey regarding money, but most high end exhausts go around $200 +
