Apparently Adam Carolla, Eric Strommer and Tanner Foust (whoever those 2 are) will be hosting the new version of Top Gear for the USA.

http://www.popularmechanics.com/automotive...rs/4270253.html

QUOTE
• The NBC adaptation will follow the BBC format: guest segment, stunt, test drive and, yes, the Stig (casting for that crucial role is still pending).

• The premiere episode will feature a race from Las Vegas to San Francisco, ending in a “mammoth stunt.” (NBC isn’t insisting on copycat stunts or episodes, a la Season One of The Office.)

• Carolla is pushing for an on-air drive of the just-unveiled BMW M1 Homage concept as soon as it’s available, as well as the Aston Martin DBS (though that would be a reprisal of a Clarkson drive).

• Clarkson and Carolla recently met face-to-face, but Carolla promises to focus more on improv than the heavily-prepared Clarkson.

• Officials from Top Gear in England, who are producing the show, along with “everyone involved,” have assured Carolla that he will be able to speak his mind on any car “without fear of reprisal” from advertisers, which he fully plans to do.

IMO this show won't come close to the satirical and comedic level that the original contains. Glad to see they won't just be advertisements to the cars and may actually have something honest to say about American cars. Scared for this show I am.

Tanner Foust has been driving for a while. X Games rally, movie stunt driver, and I think a Formula D driver too.

Not sure it will last, seeing as how they are pretty much copying Top Gear. I'll watch it to see how it is, but I'm pretty possitive that I'll be staying with the one on BBC.

I don't get the original frown.gif

They will be copying a lot and doing a lot on their own. It does have the same producers, after all.

i will probabably watch it once..then never again. Corolla is funny, but not in the same way as clarkson is. And im sorry, but Tanner Foust should stick to driving and not hosting tv shows. Every show i watch with him in it, i HATE his narrarating. Hes absolutly terrible at it. Like i was watchin an episode of Supercars exposed on speed..he was trying to be all cool working at an exotic car dealership for a day and still rocking his redbull hoodie to make the sponsors happy. I think if this show comes out its gonna b wayyy to americanized and be very a-tipical american tv. Give good reviews on domestics, comercialize every thing and go for sponsors all the time. Like i bet you any thing its gonna be like "and now to hand it over to our tame racing driver...Some say, he can get a 2L of pepsi at Kroger for $1.99 this week, others say he can get you an amazing deal on a 2009 Ford Focus, all we know is hes called the american stig.........sponsored by redbull biggrin.gif "
