I have a white '94 ST pretty much stock w/ about 151,000 miles on it. First off, do you think I could still do engine mods or not? Secondly what's your celica's mileage? Tell me if I'm wastin' time. Help me out, I'm fairly new to the car scene.

~104,500... I only put on around 7,000 of it... and if you want to do any simple bolt on mods like intake and exhaust I dont see why not... unless your engine is about ready to blow or something. Anything major like a turbo or nitrous I wouldn't recomend unless the engine is in damn good condition.

Bought my 95 ST with 76,XXX miles and put quite a bit of cash into her. Currently has around 142,XXX miles... and still rollin. My daily driver. Not gonna mod hard. Drove excellent across 1/2 of the US this summer...on a road trip. 38mpg BABY! Now for another story...

My first 94 Celica ST was a futile attempt at building a decent all-motor 7AFE...which was respectable compared to 7AFE standards, but still slow compared to most decent sport compacts. She used to be able to hit mid 15's all motor and pull 14's with a 75 shot... started modding at around 80,XXX miles with basic bolt-ons, CAI, header, exhaust, UD pulley, then got a bit serious with P&P head shaved 1/2mm (or something around that neighborhood...it's been 2 years) to up compression, ported intake manifold, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, SAFC, various other ignition mods and other crap. Decent little 4 banger, but still was rapped often by other faster cars.

The only reason I'm on my second ST...and didn't learn my lesson and buy a GT the 2nd time, was that I bought my 2nd ST in 2001... for 3600... a killer deal and I still owned my race prepped 94 ST. About 4 months later, my 94 ST (raced prepped one) threw a rod while I was running at thunder hills (local race track). It apparently was leaking oil... and I was pissed cause I usually take excellent care of her. Anyways, she threw a rod, lost control, spun, re-gained control, and limped back. Motor was trashed.... lost crank bearings, crank, cam gear slipped and lost much of the head, among other stuff. Body was fine... so my cuz and I, yank that motor, drop in a fresh 7A, and sold it... to pay off my debts... great story ehh?

Next time around... I'm gonna by a GT... =]
