It's a '99 Solara SE 4cyl. It has a seized engine. I picked it up about a week ago.

now the minor problems:
engine

just plastic bumper damage.

there is water in the spare tire well. not a big deal but I do need to find out where it's coming from.

the mirror I don't really care about

I'm not sure what's wrong with the alignment of the rear bumper/tail light

Things I've already fixed:

the grille and headlights:
Before:

After:

haha... I can't lower it, my sister won't let me. It's supposed to be for her to use when she gets her license, but yes, until then I guess it will be my winter/'Celica's in the garage' car

I'm more curious as to what you're going to do to it? Just fix it up and keep stock?

I paid 2k for it. Not the best price but not bad either. I thought it was fair for both buyer and seller.

I'm just going to fix it up and keep it stock. My sister is going to drive it, she's a small asian girl... if it comes back to me in one piece I'll pay more attention to it then.

laugh.gif ... she wanted an SUV. I told her no way for that particular reason. She's come to her senses and finally said "as long as it's pretty I like it".

Wow, someone REALLY did not take care of that car! Good luck on the project fix up. We all know you can do it and get good deals on stuff through your Toyota dealer.

the motor came out today... and holy crap, it was pretty bad

pulled the oil pan off and this is what we found:
pieces of the balance shaft housing, pieces of a connecting rod, bearings, bolts, various chunks of metal

Looks like someone used that car for car service or something, by the way it's so beat to hell. Your sister IS very lucky - I hope she realizes it! Good for her though - once you get that car "right", it'll last forever (as long as she doesn't drive it the same way the previous owner did!) And good for you for lookin' out so well. That's awesome.
