so i have an pioneer premier DEH-P6800 that i bought back in 06, it has the square aux plug in the back instead of the newer shaped ones, i bought a ipod connect that said it would work with it, i plugged it in did all the wiring and now the ipod charges but my deck doesnt read it, and it wont go to aux. i read online somewhere that i have to have the cd-ib100ii, but this cable i bought said it would do the job, wtf, im confused as a deaf kid playing musical chairs. anyone have any experience with this or are more of a car audio whiz than i am?

I had an Alpine head unit that did the same thing. All I had to do was turn on the aux feature and then I could switch to it. Maybe you can check your manual and see if you can do this. Hope this helps.

Hold the source button until the cd player is off. Hold the function button until a menu you've probably never seen before appears. scroll through until you find AUX. enable it / turn it on. Press the source button a few times until you get to the aux input... At least that's how it's done on the older units.
