tail light swap idea, would this just be wrong?? Options

So I was reading about the supra tail light swap posts and s2k tail light swaps and stuff and it made me think. I don't really want to do something others have already done but I like the supra tails. So I was like ok what are some other sporty cars with nice looking tail lights. I looked at some lexus tails and Mercedes tails but don't really like them so I was like well what about some prelude tails? So I looked at some of those and found some I thought would look cool. The only thing is that its like adding part of the enemy (sp I kno that's not right. . .) but none the less I think it could turn out nice. Is that just wrong??? Or stupid?? I'll try to post a link to exactly what I'm thinking it may be hard cuz I'm doing this from my blackberry. . What are others thoughts on this?

It's not about blending the enemy - to me its like if you put prelude parts in for example, it means you don't totally like the whole look of the car. Satisfied rather.

Its not that I'm not satisfied w my car. I love my car! I just want to do something unique W it and have some fun w it. I'm getting a photoshoot done tomorrow so I'm going to try to photoshop them on my car and are what that will look like. Give me a better idea of the actual look

Unique is highly subjective...

Anyway, lights that are, say... tall, like the stock lights tend to look "better"... thin lights like supra tails or prelude tails look like junk, IMO...

True, unique is subjective, I suppose by my choice of unique I mean that as far as I kno it hasn't been done. And as for the junk part, that is where difference in taste comes in to play as well. I happen to think they can look good. Thank you for your input tho, it is appreciated

i say no. i don't like this kind of custom work. i think that the lights are nice on the 6gc. go for the jdm lights, it's you're car though, make it your own.

I think I if I were to actually get some jdm's I'd be happy. I don't really like the stock lights ha. I would like to do some custom work, I think it would be cool but idk what in the world would flow w this car and not look odd or out of place. But I will take your jdm thought into careful consideration!

i think you have the right idea. it's all about flow. i don't think those custom fitted lights fit well with the curves of the 6gc (same thought applies to that vader style body kit). in the end everyone has there own taste. but jdm tails are very nice. in the mean time you could smoke your tail lights out to give them a custom look. let me know what you decide to do. best of luck with your decision making.

yeah i did mine. if you do tint them make sure to spray evenly(harder then it sounds) i suggest doing it out side in the sun. wet sand them using 1500+.

you gotta pick something that isnt so blatantly square. it wont go with the celica's body at all. if you are set on a tail light converstion, give the s2000 tails a look. i think someone here has one done.

I don't mind different taillights, but those are not going to work. Swapping is okay if done right and with the right lights, like Skylica.
