Hey guys, my power antenna is going out... again. I have no idea what the problem is, but the antenna motor keeps running after the antenna has gone all the way up. Is there a cut-off switch that is supposed to stop the motor when it reaches the top? This thing started gradually... at first it would only run a few seconds after the motor hits the full antenna extension - now it runs for about 20 seconds and seems to be running longer each time i start the car. Has anyone had this issue before? I took the antenna assembly apart thinking the gears were stripped, but everything looks fine.

Are there non-power antenna options available for the 6g celica?

Yup, i'd say go with the S2000 antenna. If you cant find that parts in a junk yard you will have to go to the dealerships which will cost you... When I did my swith i had to buy both parts through dealers and some other random parts everything ran me around 60 or 70 bucks... I wrote a hunge HOW TO on doing the switch with lots of pics...

How much do you use the radio? What I did was just disconnect the motor b/c I never listen to radio and I was tired of it going up everytime I turned my stereo on. Not sure if it's the same for hatchbacks, but for coupes/verts, there is a side panel inside the trunk with a little door on it and the connector is right behind that.

Or you could go S2k antenna which is a pretty nice choice also.

the mast rail is broke. you have to replace the mast. but first open the motor to get the broken piece of rail out. Or go aftermarket
