Hey guys, yesterday I installed a double din screen into my Celica. I followed the how-to post and was able to do it pretty smoothly. I have a 96 GT with a power amp.
The issue I am now having is that when I turn my lights on the audio stops playing. The screen doesn't flicker, dim, turn off, or stop playing. The audio just stops. When I turn the lights off the audio comes back it, never stopping. I'm not even sure where to begin trouble shooting, but I have a feeling I did one of the wires wrong. Any ideas, suggestion, or help? Thanks, Matthew -------------------- ![]() |

Wiring is a good start, did you make sure you bypassed the stock amp? Not doing that could cause your system to overload, correct me if I'm wrong people.

****UPDATE: I FIXED THE ISSUE: THANK YOU NJC YOU WERE PRETTY MUCH RIGHT ON. I"M STILL CURIOUS ABOUT THE OTHER QUESTIONS BELOW THOUGH****
I'm going through wiring again today, but I did have a couple questions. Here is a link to a few quick pictures I took with my phone that might help explain what i'm looking at. http://gallery.me.com/matthewsantiago#100050 Looking at picture 2. I connected the wiring harness to the stock connection (blue colored) underneath the amp. What happens to the connection to the OEM stereo that came from the amp? Should I just keep it there or can I remove the cable? In picture 3. Also there was the cable for the antenna (I believe) that goes into the back of the cd player. In the stock player there were two, a large and a smaller one. What is the smaller one? In picture one is what I connected into the back of the head unit. Once you run aftermarket sounds on a 6gc, you will have to bypass if not the amp under the player (Because you got to take the harness from it) or under the seat because after you disconnect the one from under the player it disconnects the stock amp for the door subs under the seat. Correct me if I am wrong, this is how I remember doing it.
