Hello, again sorry to post if this has been answered, I am having a problem with my gauge lights, they are out. It all started when i was re-positioning my aftermarket stereo. Everything in the center console is lit up and working. I have checked the fuse, the bulbs, and the plugs behind the gauges but everything looks fine! I really need your help guys, thanks!

I'm not a master electrician, and I'm positive that someone else can diagnose this a lot more accurately than I can, but I would double check the fuses first. Sometimes they can be blown but look just fine. There are more fuses under the hood worth looking into also. My other thought is since you had the dash apart working with your new CD player, you might have accidentally caused a short somewhere. I did the same thing in my old truck once. I was putting a new CD player in, heard a loud pop, and no more dome light frown.gif There was a wire running right through there that I had accidentally taken some of the sheath off of when I was positioning the cd player, and it shorted out. No big deal, just taped the wire and replaced the fuse. Sounds like something like this could have happened to you too.

okay what i did was pulled each fuse and turned the key to see what was affected, the dome and radios are working fine, other that those two the other fuses affect the engine and starter, unless im wrong...

There should be a 7.5 panel light fuse. It pretty much runs the line for illumination of gauge faces and the runs to your rheostat (dimmer switch). Should be located behind that pull off panel by the steering wheel. But really check those fuses, they may "look" fine but can sometimes break where you cannot see it. Borrow a multimeter or one of those fuse testers and check the fuse that way.

Let me give you a tip I learned about t/s elec stuff. If its more than 1 thing not working the problem will usually lie in 1 spot. If its 1 thing not working (as in your case.) the problem can lie in more than 1 spot (ie, with you it could be a bad fuse, bad ground, an open somewhere from the tail light fuse, etc.). If you really want to dig into it you can try looking at the wiring diagrams over at celiatech and trace it (although tracing works best on a schematic). Speaking of, anyone have a 5s-fe schematic?
