like the title says, can i use 3S-GTE head studs on my 5S-FE?

shorten by how much, what side is better to shorten, block side or head side?

You can get 5sfe studs from arp aswell.

IIRC you install them with a allen or hex wrench first, theres a key hole in the top. Once their inplace you use a nut unstead of a deep bolt to hold the head down. You have to install them with the head off though cause you have to use their loctite or whatever kind of lube for the block side. you also have to tighten them every 90 days for them to ensure their product. i think its 90 days. Anyways Ive had head studs for 3-4 years now.
