I recently had some work done to my car, new head gasket, and all the parts associated with changing that. I was messing with the pvc valve on the intake manifold and brittle hose broke well when i started the car obviously it was sucking in too much air and made my idle very erratic well this caused, (well i think it is the cause), my check engine light to come on. I have fixed the problem and put on a new pvc valve and reset the ecu countless number of times but the damn check engine light comes on still. So i did the diagnosis where the light blinks a certain amount of times to tell you the error code and it said it was something to do with the rpm signal. I can find nothing wrong with the car and the damn light is still there??? I dont know how to get it off or fix whats wrong to get it off, i can find anything wrong!! Anyone have any ideas?

well, if it says the RPM signal is the problem i would check the signal wires on the distributor.

check for loose electrical connections on anything that has to do with the way the engine senses its RPM.

check the TPS voltage too while you are at it.

or take it to the place where you got the work donwe and complain that ist caused a CEL
