Right,
Am doing my brakes. Interestingly, so far all the brake pads that were supposed to be for a Celica 2.0 GT 3SGE do not seem to fit. My mate seems to suggest that since I have super strut suspension, which is supposed to be on a GT4, I probably also have GT4 front brakes. So far I tried halfords brand brake pads (the ones for a 2.0l GT 3S-GE engine 93-99), tried Allied Nippon's (ADB0331). None of them fit. Allied Nippons too big, halfords too small. SO you can imagine my surprise how different these pads are, yet are specified for the same car... Any suggestions? |

Hmm, i guess not...
Well, after some massive browsing on the internet, I think I found what's going on. My Celica has a twin piston brake caliper on front. And after some searching on the internet I found a link, http://www.buypartsby.co.uk/ebc-brakes/200...e_Catalogue.pdf. This link provides a whole list of EBC brake pads for all kinds of cars. But not only that, it also provides a view and dimensions of those pads! So after some searching I found that none of the listed Celicas has the pads I need. So I decided to browse the diagrams. And guess what, I found them! (I think). Turns out that my celica probably has got MR2 calipers on front! The pads EBC recommends for the 91-99 MR2 are the exact ones I currently hold in my hands! Well, of course I immediately went to halfords in the morning, and they managed to tell me no one in Bristol is selling those. WTF????? Noone drives that model MR2 anymore??? I doubt that very much. But anyway, if bristol suppliers no longer want to do business, I take my business to ebay, because there I CAN find the right brake pads! Too bad that it did waste my whole weekend, so I couldn't get my brakes done this lovely weekend. I guess next weekend, when I have all the bits, it will be raining... |
