well this happen after i figure out i had a crack on my intake manifold..i took it off and got it welded and fixed..but u know what happens when u fix something..someother crap comes up and u have to fix it some more!.. but yeah at first, after i reinstalled the intake manifold i got a idle that went up and down..couldnt think of any reason why it would happen cause i swear i put everything back the way it was suppost to be so i check for vac leaks and loose hoses and whatever i could think of that would cause that problem couldnt find anything....
so now after about 2 hours of tryin to figure out what the problem be i called around and ask a few people (thanks death, jim,and some other mr2 guys) i ruled it out to be the tps ( Throttle Position Sensor).. so i kinda mess with the idle air control..the idleing up and down is gone but i got this...??? (NOTE THIS IS A ST205) http://s52.photobucket.com/albums/g22/miss...nt=MOV05776.flv after this video i took my car for a short drive to see if it would die on me or anything...it didnt... but my throttle responses is crazy fast now and it not leanin out anymore! yay (<---got that fixed) so if anyone else can help to see what could cause my car to bog up and down like crazy after i reinstalled the intake manifold?? i would be thankfull -------------------- |

pull your EFI fuse for 30 seconds and reset your ECU (A/F).
did you mess with the throttle body ? the TPS and IAC are both on the TB, if you didn't remove the TPS then just don't mess with it. you said the idle was going up and down ? that's the IAC. What did you do to fix it ? in the vid IMO the IAC is stuck open. Unplug the IAC and see if there's a difference with the idle. Also, make sure the big vac line that goes to it isn't cracked and secure on both ends. Then try the same with the TPS (it should throw a CEL when you unplug it FYI) -------------------- |

i didnt have the gasket set right.. ooh what would u guys suggest me getting for the new intake manifold gasket??? the stock oem toyota or the ats cosmic one (heat reflexs)? haha yep. thatll do it!! when we pulled my intake and throttle body off.. my buddy is the one who put it back on while i worked on my turbo manifold...and he put it on wrong... caused all kinds of problems. as far as the intake gasket, you should be fine with just a regular Toyota OEM gasket IMO. -------------------- |
