I have a 3sge engined celica and when i start the car up no oil light soon as i start to drive carefully the orange oil level light comes on and stays on untill i switch the engine off. I have changed the oil and the filter and used an engine flush, no difference! engine does not make any rattling noise and i have taken rocker cover off and seems plenty of oil and not grooves or noticable damage to any parts. Checked oil level on dipstick reads full. Stuck do i need to worry or is there an engine oil level sensor that is in the sump on these models. Any help would be really appreciated don't know what to do garage suggested oil pump but no red oil light has come on and engine not noisy and looks well lubricated. Thanks.

It sounds like your oil pump is failing. The oil light comes on when oil pressure is low—and in your case, since you're positive that your oil is filled and and the proper level, I'd lay money that your pump is or has failed.

eh - I just read the end of your post where you said garage suggested the same. Maybe you should take their advice before you have much bigger problems.

been looking for some information and apparently the orange oil light that comes on is for oil level and the red light is for the oil pressure. As my problem is the orange light stays on but my oil level is at maximum. i beleive that a few people have had this problem and it is that the level sensor in the sump goes faulty it costs over 200 pound plus vat from the dealer. Any suggestions or help

yea, if the oil level is full and you know it is then ignore it until you can replace the sensor or make sure that the wiring to the sensor is good.
